Chapter 925: The Antidote

Mrs Darlington stared at the pill box for a long time before she asked, "Eloise, do you know what Rowson is doing? Did he disappear for so long and then suddenly send this back, did he go and do something untoward?" She supposedly knows her son best, but she doesn't, and since he disappeared, she has realised that she doesn't know Rowson at all.

"Mum, don't get your head around it." Of course Eloise couldn't tell her the truth, "Rowson's just off somewhere else working on a drug." "So how come he's not in touch with his family?"

"Well...," Eloise hesitated.

Seeing as if she was in a difficult position, Mrs Darlington couldn't help but get agitated, "He really went to do the unseemly, didn't he?"

"No." Eloise lost her smile helplessly as she patted Mrs Darlington's hand and said soothingly, "I just don't know how to explain it to you."

Eloise thought hard and continued, "He didn't tell you guys because he was afraid you would be worried. He's going to an institute that needs to be kept secret this time, that's why he didn't tell you guys." "You're not lying to me?" Mrs Darlington was somewhat incredulous.

"Mum, you know me, is it possible for me to lie to you?" Eloise pursed her lips and looked at her innocently.

Mrs Darlington laughed, "Yeah, you couldn't have fooled me."

"Thank you for your confidence."

Eloise silently said in her mind that she was sorry.

She had no choice but to tell the lie and hoped that Mrs Darlington would not blame her when she found out later.

Having not seen each other for too long, Mrs Darlington and Eloise had a lot to talk about and the two talked for over an hour, not stopping until Solomon and Sweety got home. "Grandma."

Sweety's eyes lit up instantly when she saw Mrs Darlington and ran over to her on short legs and jumped into Mrs Darlington's arms.

"Ouch, my sweet Sweety," Mrs Darlington said as she hugged her tightly.

Mrs Darlington's eyes were wet at the corners when she saw Sweety again after such a long time.

Eloise had mixed feelings as she watched the old and the young hugging each other.

Sweety's relationship with Mr. Darlington SrMrs Darlington, like her relationship with Hector's parents, is one that genuinely sees them as her grandparents.

"Hello Grandma." Solomon walked over too, calling out good-naturedly.

"Solomon, be good." Mrs Darlington freed a hand to stroke his head.

The two little ones were chattering around Mrs Darlington, who was smiling from ear to ear, her face full of love for her two children.

Hector came downstairs from his work and his eyes flickered slightly when he saw Mrs Darlington.

"Hector," Eloise said as she caught him coming down the stairs out of the corner of her eye and rushed over.

"Don't run."

Hector uttered a rebuke, her body would not allow her to do so.

"Oh."

Eloise obeyed and stood still, then slowly walked up to him.

"Are you done?" Hector nodded.

"Mum is here to see me." Eloise was afraid he might not like the arrival of Mrs Darlington.

"I know."

Hector took her by the hand and walked towards Mrs Darlington.

"Hello, Auntie." Although he didn't like Rowson, he was grateful for the family's care of Eloise and Sweety.

"Mr Hector," said Mrs Darlington, standing up a little uncomfortably.

Seeing this, Eloise said, "Mum, you can just call him Hector, don't be so insensitive."

With that, she tugged at Hector's hand.

Hector inclined his head to look at her, a small smile flashing in his eyes.

This was her way of trying to get him to second her words.

But he really did that too.

"Auntie, you can just call me Hector."

"Good, Hector," Mrs Darlington called out smoothly.

There was a sudden silence around the room, even the two little ones didn't speak, and for a moment the atmosphere was a little awkward. Eloise coughed softly and said, "Mum, you stay with Solomon, Sweety and the others while Hector and I have something to talk about." "Go on." Mrs Darlington nodded.

Eloise dragged Hector upstairs and handed him the box of pills Mrs Darlington had brought.

"It was sent to Mom by Rowson so she could send it to me specifically."

Hector took it and examined it carefully, his brow furrowed slightly, "Did she say anything else?"

"No. Mrs Darlington just said it was secretly sent to her by Rowson."

Medicine?

Secrets?

Hector's eyes narrowed slightly as he took out his phone and made a call.

Eloise watched him walk to the window, only to hear him say to the person on the other side of the phone, "In the research room? Okay, I'm coming over now." As soon as he finished, he hung up the phone.

"What's wrong?" Eloise asked, puzzled.

Hector turned back around and thought for a moment, "Eloise, can Rowson be trusted?"

Eloise froze, "Why are you asking this all of a sudden?"

"This medicine might work on the virus in your system." Hector ventured a guess.

When he said that, Eloise remembered what Rowson had said.

Rowson did say he would save her and help her, which is why he went into Bergerian's institute.

"He's so stupid." Eloise laughed bitterly.

She didn't even want him to save her in such a dangerous way, she just wanted him to go back to her parents, take care of them and stop worrying them. "I'll take the medicine and analyse it and see what's going on." Hector said.

Although he was sure in his mind that Rowson's drug worked, he needed to get Almeida and the others to analyse it first, just to be on the safe side. Eloise nodded, "Good."

Hector went to the Institute with the medicine.

As soon as Almeida got the medicine, she and Sener started to analyse and experiment.

The results were soon available.

"Prince."

Almeida and Sener can't hide their excitement as they walk quickly out of the lab.

Seeing their expressions, Hector knew his suspicions were right.

"Prince, this medicine you brought will destroy some of the components of the virus!" As he said this, Sener's voice trembled a little.

It's only natural that they would get excited.

After all, it had been researched for so long and there had been no breakthrough, so of course they were excited when a drug like this suddenly came along and was effective against the virus. "Which means the medicine can be taken, right?" Hector confirmed once more, still cautiously.

"Yes, it can be taken. But that's only part of it, to completely eradicate the virus, you have to continue working on it."

Just then, a call came from Ramm abroad.

Hector hung up the phone and went back with the medicine..
