Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 926: Nothing will happen to him
Eloise didn't have any bad reactions when she took it and her body felt a bit more relaxed.
Hector's hanging heart settled back into place as he put the medicine away carefully so as not to lose it.
Eloise was not happy with the medication, although she felt better.
She frowned and looked grave.
Seeing this, Hector pondered for a moment and asked, "Worried about Rowson?"
"Hmm." Eloise didn't deny it, "He was in that research lab for me, in case his life was in danger if someone found out."
Rowson has an unshirkable responsibility for her becoming what she is.
But if he hadn't saved them, they wouldn't even know if they were alive or dead.
And this time he infiltrated Bergerian's research lab with complete disregard for danger, in order to save her.
If she had put him in danger because of her, then she would not be able to answer to her parents and them and would live with the guilt for the rest of her life.
"Eloise," Hector said with particular clarity in one word as he gripped her shoulders and looked straight into her eyes full of worry, "Rowson is a smart man and nothing will happen to him until he works out a cure for you." Why does that sound a bit off?
Eloise was just about to open her mouth when he put his thumbs against her lips.
"I mean you have to trust him, he'll be fine and you don't have to feel bad about it. Hmm?"
Eloise pursed her lips tightly and did not speak.
Hector gave a faint smile, "Fool, if you don't trust him, you have to trust me. I'll have someone keep an eye on the Bergerian side."
The implication was that he would not let anything happen to Rowson.
"Thank you, Hector," Eloise murmured as she opened her arms around his waist and rested her head on his shoulder, "I'm sorry, it's all my fault for causing you trouble."
If she hadn't contracted the virus, they wouldn't have had to put their lives on the line for her time and time again, and they wouldn't have had to be on tenterhooks. "It's not your fault."
Hector raised his hand and gently stroked her soft hair, his voice so gentle it sounded like water could drip out of it, "Don't blame yourself, it's not your fault."
The two embraced each other in silence, a warm atmosphere flowing slowly around them.
...
Mrs Darlington had come for a visit and Eloise offered to let her stay for a few more days before she left.
"Yeah, just do as you say."
Mrs Darlington puts her arm around Sweety and nods with a smile.
In fact, she couldn't leave Sweety.
"Grandma, you'll sleep with me at night then, okay?" Sweety tilted her little face up and looked at her expectantly. Mrs Darlington pinched her cheek, her face full of affection, "Yes."
Eloise smiled as she watched the interaction between the old and the young, her eyes light up with a soft glow.
Hector's mother was delighted to have Mrs Darlington at home, she was bored with flowers and books and now she had someone to talk to.
Especially knowing that the Darlington family had saved Eloise and Sweety's lives, Hector's parents were grateful and wanted to repay Mrs Darlington in every way possible. But all were turned down by Mrs Darlington.
"Eloise is like a daughter to me and Sweety is like a granddaughter to me, they are good enough." Mrs Darlington looked tenderly at Eloise and Sweety.
Her fondness for them all shows on her face.
Hector's father and Hector's mother looked at each other and then Hector's mother suggested, "Tell you what, while you're at City J, let Eloise walk you around." At that, Mrs Darlington looked to Eloise, "May I, Eloise?"
Eloise smiled, "Sure."
Mrs Darlington returned a smile, "That will be a problem for you."
For the next few days Eloise took Mrs Darlington sightseeing, but the fun was short-lived and in five days Mrs Darlington was heading back to France.
"Grandma, don't you go." Sweety couldn't bear to see Mrs Darlington leave, hugging her neck with tears falling down her face, causing heartache.
"Sweety is good, don't cry." Mrs Darlington was also red-eyed as she wiped Sweety's tears and said, "Grandpa is lonely at home alone and Grandma needs to go back to be with her." "So... then let Grandpa come too, OK?"
A child's mind is always naive.
Mrs Darlington smiled gently, "Grandpa has work and can't come, but Sweety can go, can't she? When you're on holiday, let Daddy and Mummy take you, OK?"
"I don't want it, I want Grandma to stay."
Seeing Sweety crying louder and louder, Eloise helplessly picked her up and gently coaxed, "Sweety be a good girl, don't cry, Grandma will just go back for a while and she will come back." "Really?" Sweety sniffled.
Eloise nodded, "Of course it's true."
"Then Grandma, let's hook up."
Sweety got out of her arms and ran over to Mrs Darlington and held out her little hand.
"Okay, pull the hook."
After putting Sweety at ease, Hector himself drove Mrs Darlington to the airport with Eloise.
"Mum." Eloise gave Mrs Darlington a hug, more than a little sadly.
Mrs Darlington's eyes were red again as she patted Eloise on the back, her voice a little choked up, "Come back and see us when you can, the Darlington family will always be your home." "Good."
A sourness came over her and Eloise couldn't help but cry.
"Don't cry, it's not pretty." Mrs Darlington wiped her tears, then looked up at Hector and assumed the posture of an elder, saying in a serious voice, "Take care of Eloise." Hector nods his head.
Mrs Darlington took a deep breath and squeezed out a smile, "I'm off, you guys should go back too."
"Bye, Mom."
"Bye."
Eloise's vision blurred as she watched Mrs Darlington enter the security checkpoint.
"When I'm free, I'll take you and the baby to visit them." Hector stepped aside to put his arm around her shoulders.
"Good." Eloise leaned into his arms and let the tears slide silently down her face.
...
After dropping Eloise off at home, Hector went to the office.
Just as I walked into the office, a call came in from the SA Group.
"Mr Hector, good afternoon."
John's familiar voice came through the handset and Hector took off his suit jacket without changing his expression, then sat down on the sofa, leaning back lazily, his long, slender legs folded. "Good afternoon."
Upon hearing his response, John asked directly, "Mr Hector, are the herbs I want ready?"
Hector raised his eyebrows and curled his lips as if he hadn't been there, "Mr John, I regret to inform you that there is a problem with the preparation of the herbs and it is unlikely that they will be ready." On hearing this, John became anxious, "What's going on? How can there be a problem?"
"Such a large batch of herbs had been prepared before, so it has led to the problem of not being able to replenish the herbs now."
"So when will it be ready?"
"Next year."
"What?" John shouted in excitement, "Not until next year? Mr Hector, are you kidding me? How can you be such a big herb dealer and not be able to prepare?" Hector was silent.
With this silence, John sensed that something was wrong.
"Mr Hector, we're in partnership, you better not play any tricks or ..."
There was a threat in his words and Hector sneered, "Okay, I'll be honest, I was actually able to prepare for it, but someone offered a higher price."
