Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 931: Ending the Farce
"Hmm."
Edgar smiled bitterly, "I don't really care who is the heir to this, it's just that Grandpa is old and it must be hard to see the Khan family in disarray." "Indeed." Eloise sighed.
In the entire Khan family, only grandfather and brother-in-law are sensible, while the other two uncles have become so greedy that they have no regard for kinship.
"I'm sorry you've just met your grandfather and let you see such a bad side of the Khan family."
Eloise shook her head, "Don't say that, we're family, aren't we?"
"Yeah, family." Edgar sneered, "But some people don't even think of us as family."
He was referring, naturally, to his eldest uncle and his second uncle.
"Don't think about it so much, they can fight for it if they want to, I'm sure Grandpa has a clear mind and already has a suitable candidate."
As she said this, Eloise gave him a meaningful look.
Edgar is the only member of the Khan family capable of carrying on the mantle of the old man.
Although Arlice and Goode are not badly equipped, they are not pure-minded and too small-minded for the old man to ever put the family business in the hands of either of them.
Edgar said, half jokingly, half seriously, "I didn't think you could understand Grandpa."
"It's not that I get it, but that's the reality."
Not only her, but anyone who knows about the Khan family would have guessed what the old man had in mind.
At these words, Edgar fell silent and his expression gradually became grave.
Eloise frowned, "Did something happen?"
Edgar shakes his head.
Eloise pondered for a moment, "From what you're saying, Grandpa is intent on handing the Khan family over to you, so you and your brother-in-law and sister-in-law must be having a hard time with the Khan family."
With the other two aunts and uncles, they must have made things difficult for them at every turn, and even stumbled over his career in various ways.
"It's never been better."
Edgar took a deep breath and continued, "Growing up, I don't know why my eldest and second uncles and their family disliked us and would always use all sorts of bad words to troll us."
"It's just human jealousy at work." Eloise pursed her lips in thought, "Grandpa obviously treats his brother-in-law differently to his great uncle and the rest of them, and with the Khan family being so big, they've long seen him as a rival rather than a family member."
Such an analysis hurts.
There is something really suffocating about being hostile when you are obviously family.
Edgar laughed bitterly, "You're right, indeed. My dad said he wouldn't have wanted me to take on the burden at all if he wasn't afraid the Khan family would fall into their hands and be defeated."
Eloise nodded, "I know what my brother-in-law means, once you take it, there will be no end to the trouble later, and my great uncle and the others won't take it lying down."
What she has said, Edgar has thought of, so he now hesitates to take up the burden.
Seeing his hesitation, Eloise smiled, "Don't let Grandpa down, cousin."
A word of warning to Edgar.
Yes, he couldn't let his grandfather down.
The Khan Group was founded by Grandpa and cannot be destroyed by his eldest uncle and his second uncle.
"Eloise, thank you, I know what choice I should make now." Edgar smiled gratefully at Eloise.
"There's no need to be so polite."
Before Eloise's voice could fall, a voice came, "If you need any help just ask."
It's Hector.
His words certainly gave Edgar a huge boost of confidence.
The latter stood up and asked uncertainly, "Hector, what do you mean..."
Did it mean what he thought it meant?
Hector took a seat next to Eloise and then gestured for him to sit down before saying, "There's no question about your ability, but there are no achievements to convince anyone at the moment." Spot on words.
Edgar laughed helplessly, "It's Hector who sees things more thoroughly. That's right, apart from that collaboration with the Three Families a while back, I really don't have any other achievements to show for it." But despite this, Grandpa trusted him to put the Khan Group in his hands.
The more this happens, the less he can let his grandfather down.
"What then?" Eloise, who had been optimistic, couldn't help but worry.
Although the heir was personally chosen by the old man, if he is not approved by the other directors, he will struggle in the company in the future.
Edgar kept his head down and wondered what he was thinking.
And Hector didn't say a word, he had made his words clear and trusted Edgar to know what to do.
"Cousin ..."
Eloise tried to say something comforting but was stopped by Hector, "You let him think for himself."
"Okay." Eloise could only give up and lean against Hector quietly.
It was only after a long time that Edgar looked up, his gaze determined, at Hector, "Hector, I need your help."
At that, Hector hooked his lips in a smile, "Okay, you tell me."
What Edgar had to say next was a little hard to say for himself, but for his grandfather's sake and for the Khan Group's sake, he said it anyway.
"Grandpa has made it clear that he wants to hand over the Khan Group to me. Like you said, in my current situation even with Grandpa's support, it would be difficult to convince the public.
That's why I need Rogers Group as a partner to keep everyone's mouth shut."
After saying it, Edgar's whole body relaxed, but only for a few seconds, and the next thing he knew, he was nervous again.
Although Hector has offered to help him, a partnership between the two families is not something that can be done with a few words.
Eloise turned her head to look at Hector and opened her mouth several times to speak for Edgar, but held back.
This was a business matter and she could not use her personal feelings to blackmail him.
"That's what I meant." Hector smiled blandly.
Both Edgar and Eloise breathed a huge sigh of relief at this comment, and they both looked at each other with a smile. "Thanks Hector," Edgar said gratefully.
With the Rogers Group's cooperation, both the eldest and second uncles and the other directors will have to be convinced, right?
"Yes, thank you, Hector."
Eloise turned her head towards him Sweety and smiled.
Looking at her bright smile, Hector would have kissed her on the lips if not for the presence of outsiders.
He suppressed the charming thoughts in his mind and raised his eyes to look at Edgar, "I will have my secretary draw up the contract of cooperation, but I hope there will not be any more changes in between." Edgar thought for a moment, "I don't think so."
"Let's hope so."
Hector didn't want a change of heart either, but he didn't believe Grandpa Khan's other two sons would just let it go.
"When will the heir be confirmed?" It had taken so long to talk that it occurred to Eloise that there was such an important question left unasked.
"It's just for a few days."
Eloise was surprised, "In such a hurry?"
Edgar smiled bitterly, "The situation with the Khan family is so chaotic right now that Grandpa wants to make an announcement and put an end to all this farce quickly."
"But it's such a rush..." Eloise was a little worried, "there shouldn't be anything wrong, should there?"
