Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 932: Asking for a reward
"Although the situation is chaotic now, I think with Grandpa around, my eldest uncle and second uncle wouldn't dare to mess around." That said, Edgar still had concerns, adding, "I'm afraid they'll be desperate for profit."
Eloise followed suit.
She had only met the Khan family once or twice, except for Edgar, but she could tell that neither of her great-uncle's two families were good people.
As the saying goes, people die for their money, and with their greedy personalities, they would never stand by and watch the old man hand over the family business to Edgar. "I'll be careful."
At this point in time, Edgar knows there is no turning back, and only if he becomes stronger will he be able to keep those people from doing anything wrong.
"Later my assistant will deliver the contract, which, when signed and in force, will be your most advantageous weapon."
Hector's meaning is clear, and is literally helping him.
"Thanks." Edgar didn't know what to say other than thank you.
"You go back and tell Grandpa that he doesn't have to come over, I'll just go over with Hector and the kids."
After this heir selection is over, there is sure to be a lot more to come, and the old man has enough to worry about as it is, and Eloise can't bear to make him go back and forth again. Edgar nodded, "Okay, I'll go back and talk to Grandpa."
Thomas soon delivered the contract.
The partnership between the Rogers Group and the Khan Group began in earnest when Hector and Edgar each signed their names to the contract.
"Hector, good to work with." Edgar held out his hand.
Hector reached out and shook his hand back, "Good cooperation."
The contract was signed and Edgar left straight away.
He has to go back and prepare for tomorrow's board meeting.
...
"Do you think there will be a problem?"
Back in her room, Eloise still couldn't feel at ease and was really worried about her grandfather just thinking about the situation the Khan family was in. "We're going to Kyoto?" Hector asked.
Eloise shook her head, "No, the situation will only get messier if we go now, it's better to wait until it's all over."
She didn't want to cause trouble for her grandfather at this time.
"Then don't think too much about it." Hector took her into his arms and said in a gentle voice, "Have faith in Edgar, since Grandpa gave him the Khan Group, it means he also believes Edgar is capable of fixing everything." Eloise sighed, "It's not that I don't trust him, I'm afraid that my great uncle and my second uncle have too bad a heart."
There are many families in the gentry who have lost their lives because of power struggles.
Seeing what she was thinking, Hector laughed out loud, "You, you just watch too many dramas."
"No!" Eloise tilted her little face up to glare at him, "My two aunts and uncles are a lot scarier than they are in the TV show."
Thinking back to their first meeting, their various taunts and sarcastic comments really stuck with her.
"If you're really unsure, I'll send someone over to help Edgar."
"Are you sure?" Eloise was surprised.
"Aren't you the one who's worried?" Hector looked at her with amusement, he really didn't want to get involved in someone else's family struggle for power if it wasn't for her peace of mind. Eloise brushed her lips, "I was worried, but no more. It's like you said, trust your cousin."
"All yours." Hector stroked her head, "Go take a shower and get an early night's rest."
"What about you?"
"I need to rest too."
"Oh." She'd thought he was going to be busy with work.
Watching her enter the bathroom, Hector turned to go out only then.
Eloise came out of the shower and saw that Hector wasn't in his room and frowned slightly. Why wasn't he there?
Just as she was wondering, the door to the room was pushed open from the outside.
She looked up only to see Hector walk in wearing a bathrobe.
It turned out that he had gone to the guest room to take a shower.
Seeing her hair dripping wet, Hector furrowed his brow tightly, his pace quickening as he walked up to her and scolded her in a low voice, "Why don't you blow dry your hair?" "I... I forgot."
Eloise bowed her head like a student who had made a mistake in front of her teacher.
Seeing this, Hector realised that his tone had been a little heavy and he put the towel in his hand over her head, wiping it with very gentle movements.
Then he went into the bathroom.
Eloise took the towel off her head and looked up over her shoulder, a small smile of triumph on her clear little face.
She went to the bed and sat down, propping her hands on the edge and swaying her legs gently, like a small child. Hector came out to see this scene and froze for a few seconds, then reacted with a slow rise in the corners of his lips. "You just want me to blow-dry your hair, don't you?" He walked over.
Eloise cocked her head, a wry twinkle in her eyes, "Guess."
Hector smiled dotingly, looking at her with a gaze so gentle it was almost dripping.
He plugged in the hairdryer and then helped her blow-dry her hair.
The atmosphere in the large room was sweet and cosy with only the sound of the hairdryer.
Feeling his fingertips gently run through her hair, a smile grew on Eloise's lips and her heart rose to its fullest.
After blowing for a while, Hector touched her hair and it was dry.
He turned off the hair dryer and looked down to see her giggling and couldn't help but laugh, "What are you laughing at?" "Huh?" Eloise looked up and met his dark, deep eyes, not responding for a moment.
"What were you laughing at?" Hector repeated the question.
"I'm laughing..." Eloise deliberately sold out.
"Hmm?"
"I'm laughing at how many virtues I must have had in my last life to have known you and been with you." Eloise looked serious. Hector raised an eyebrow, "That's true."
At that, Eloise gave him a feigned displeasure and pushed him, "I'm just saying, you're really climbing up the pole!"
Hector smiled and wrapped his arms around her, kissed her hair and said softly, "Actually, it should be because I was lucky in my last life, otherwise I wouldn't have met you." "That's more like it." Eloise rested her head against his chest, listening to the steady beat of his heart, and it was really reassuring.
Hector bowed his head, "So can I ask for a reward?"
"What's the reward?" Eloise lifted her little face.
"This is it."
Hector dipped his head and kissed her on her slightly open red lips.
Eloise closed her eyes and raised her arms around his neck, responding to his kisses in rhythm with his.
The atmosphere grew charming, and Hector picked her up in his arms, and they collapsed on the bed.
"Daddy, Mummy!"
Suddenly, a childish voice came out.
Frightened, Eloise pushed Hector away and sat up from the bed.
Only to see Solomon and Sweety push open the door and run in, one after the other.
"Why aren't you ... guys in bed yet?" Eloise straightened her messy hair and pyjamas and looked at the two little ones with a slightly unnatural face.
Hector, on the other hand, had a dark look on his face and a sullen gaze on the siblings.
He felt the need to lock the door behind him as soon as he entered the room in future.
