Love Comes To Me
Chapter 933: Inheriting the Family Business

"Mummy, I want to sleep with you."

Sweety looked up from Eloise's arms with a look of anticipation.

"This ..."

Eloise subconsciously looked over at Hector.

The latter gave her a look and spoke, "Sweety, you're old enough to sleep on your own."

"I don't want to, I want to sleep with mummy." Sweety hugged Eloise tightly.

Eloise softened, "Just let her sleep here."

She turned her head to look at Solomon, who hadn't said a word since she'd entered, just stood quietly.

He looked at Sweety with an involuntary glint of envy in his eyes.

He wanted to sleep with Mummy too, but Daddy said he was a man playing to sleep by himself.

Eloise smiled and waved at Solomon, "Solomon, come here."

Solomon obeyed and walked over.

Stroking his little head, Eloise gently inquired, "Will you sleep with Mummy too?"

Solomon glanced surreptitiously at Hector.

Someone sighed and said helplessly, "All sleep here."

At these words, big smiles spread across Solomon and Sweety's baby faces and the two little ones burrowed happily under the covers.

"I'll sleep in the guest room." Hector leaned over and planted a light kiss on Eloise's forehead.

"Good night."

Eloise gave him a shy scowl, "The baby's here."

Hector turned his head to look at the two little ones, only to see them staring at him with wide eyes for an instant.

He laughed out loud and then kissed them too, "Good night, be a good girl and don't wake mummy."

"Good night, Daddy!"

The two little ones said in unison.

Looking at his wife and child lying in bed, with tenderness in his brow, he whispered, "Call me if you need anything, good night." Then, turn around and go out.

...

Edgar rushed back to Kyoto overnight and arrived home after 1am.

He couldn't rest and worked non-stop again to prepare the materials needed for the board meeting.

It was not until dawn that they were all ready.

He turned his sore neck, his eyes falling on the pile of materials on the table, the corners of his mouth slowly curving up.

We should be able to win a battle this time.

"Mr Edgar."

At that moment, a surprised voice came.

Edgar turned his head to look and it was his father Baggott.

Baggott approached and caught a glimpse of the pile of papers and frowned, "Have you been up all night?"

Edgar nodded, "Hmm."

"Do you still have the spirit to attend board meetings like that?" Baggott looked at him worriedly.

Edgar smiled softly, "Don't worry, Dad, I won't embarrass you."

At that, Baggott smiled back, but there was still a hint of concern between his eyebrows, "It's not that I don't believe you, but those directors are not easy, one must be on one's toes." "Dad, I'm prepared, they'll have to be convinced even if they don't when the time comes."

"What preparations?"

"You'll know when the time comes." Edgar didn't tell his father about the partnership with Rogers Group because he wanted to surprise everyone at the board meeting. Of course, for some people, it may be a shock.

"That's fine, remember we don't fight unprepared battles, since we have to fight then we have to win."

As a father, he just wants his son to be happy. The Khan family is in such a bad way that he doesn't want his son to get involved in this mess.

But he was also a son, and seeing that the old man was getting older and his health was not what it used to be, it was not right to make him work and worry any more.

The only person in the entire Khan family who is capable and suitable to take over the position of the old man is Mr Edgar.

So, fight hard, too, with the first and second houses.

Edgar smiled confidently, "Don't worry, Dad, it'll be won."

Not only did he want to win, he wanted to win beautifully.

...

The Khan Group Board Meeting was held promptly at 9am.

All the directors attended in full and were seated on either side of the conference table, with Edgar and his father being placed at the back, at least seven or eight people away from the old man.

"If your eldest had put that mind to the right thing, he wouldn't have had to be just an idle manager by now."

Baggott lowered his voice to an exasperated whisper.

The seating for today's meeting was arranged by Farabee, who sat the Baggott father and son so far away in a deliberate attempt to disgust them.

Edgar glanced up at Farabee, who was smiling with a smug smile, and a stern look flashed across his eyes.

This is the sadness of the gentry family.

Even if you have no intention of counting people, someone will still count you.

Only by becoming strong yourself can you protect yourself and those around you.

"Dad, don't be angry, these are the only little things they do, too, Uncle Big."

Baggott sighed, "I'm not angry anymore."

In fact, he is sad that the Khan family has become what it is today, with brothers fighting for power as if they were enemies and haters.

Edgar could understand his father's feelings as he looked over at Arlice and the Goode brothers.

Taking a deep breath and with a hint of determination in his eyes, he had to win today.

Soon after, Grandpa Khan arrived.

With his hands on his crutches, his eagle-like gaze swept over everyone in the room, pausing for a few more seconds on Edgar.

Arlice noticed and looked sideways at Edgar, seeing his confidence and couldn't help but sneer.

So what if they have the support of the old man, a man who has nothing to show for his career will never be worthy of inheriting the entire Khan family.

"Thank you all for taking time out of your busy schedules to attend this directors' meeting, as for the old man, I am getting older and my health is not as good as it used to be, so I intend to pick one of several grandchildren to inherit the family business..."

The old man's mid-range voice echoed in the large conference room.

Everyone else listened quietly until he had finished, and then someone spoke.

"Chairman, do you have the right person in mind then?"

"Yes, Chairman, you should have picked it out a long time ago."

...

Everyone was talking in one breath, just asking the old man to name his favourite candidate.

It was only after a long time that the old man spoke slowly, "I do have a candidate in mind, but I still want to hear everyone's opinion."

Farabee felt that he couldn't sit on his hands like that and took the initiative to stand up, "Arlice has been good since he was a child and has done well in the company over the years, his abilities are there for all to see."

At this comment, the other directors whispered, generally quite pleased with Arlice.

Not to be outdone, Devona, the second house, hurriedly stood up to take a stand as well, "Arlice is good, yes, but Goode is not bad either, with all the benefits he has created for the Khan Group and his personality, I believe he will become like the old man."

The directors looked at each other, it seemed to them that both were possible and it was too difficult to choose one out.

"Chairman, what do you think?" Someone threw the question at Grandpa Khan.

The latter did not reply immediately, but thoughtfully thought for a moment before raising his eyes to Edgar.

"Mr Edgar, do you have anything to say?"

At this question, all eyes turned to Edgar.

Edgar stood up slowly and methodically, then started handing out the papers he had prepared.
