Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 971: It's like jealousy again
Edgar returns to the old Khan family home and rushes straight to the first floor study, but replaces no sign of Hector.
Only after asking the housekeeper did he learn that Hector had accompanied Eloise to the hospital.
He had no choice but to drive to the hospital.
As soon as he met Hector at the hospital, he said anxiously, "Hector, I've found out what's wrong."
Hector raised his eyebrows slightly, "What's the problem?"
"Come and look."
Edgar put the laptop he had brought on the coffee table and opened the surveillance video, pulling the progress bar to where the problem was found. "This is it." He pointed to the border of the picture, "After the technicians' analysis, the video was cut."
Hector watched carefully for a moment, his eyes narrowed slightly and the corners of his mouth curled up in a few sneers, "It seems the other side is prepared." "We now know that the video was cut, but it's a bit difficult to recover the original video."
Speaking of which, Edgar looked a little frustrated throughout.
Eloise couldn't bear it and spoke out soothingly, "If there's no way to recover, we'll investigate the rest. I don't believe the other side won't leave a trail."
"But I don't know where to start again." Edgar sighed and smiled bitterly, "It's only after something so serious happened this time that I really realised where my abilities lie."
I panic when things go wrong, I don't know what to do and my head is completely blank.
Where is the composure of a group president?
"I'll accompany you on a trip to the police station." Hector said.
Edgar nodded, "Good."
Hector turned to Eloise and said, "I'll go with him, you stay at the hospital with Mum and Grandad."
Eloise smiled, "Okay, I know, you don't have to worry about me."
Hector and Edgar left together and silence returned to the ward.
Eloise went to the next ward.
Just now, in order not to let my mother know about the fire in the Khan Group's warehouse and to avoid her worrying, I sent her to the next ward.
"Are you guys done talking about things?" Maryam asked, opening her mouth when she saw her coming.
Eloise nods her head.
"I saw Mr Edgar like that, did something happen?" Maryam inquired with concern.
"No." Eloise turned the tables and asked, "Mum, do you want to take a break, I'll just keep an eye on things here."
Maryam nodded, "Good. Hard work."
"I've got something to work on."
Eloise helped her back to the ward to rest, then returned to the old man's ward herself.
No sooner had the person entered than there was a knock on the door.
She hurried over to the door and opened it.
Her eyes widened in surprise when she opened the door and saw the person standing in the doorway, "Miss Earlene."
The person who came was none other than Earlene.
"Eloise," the other man echoed with a look of surprise, "how ... did you get here?"
"I've come to stay with my grandfather. What about you?"
Eloise saw her holding a bouquet of flowers and instantly understood, smiling, "You're here to see my grandfather, aren't you?" Earlene nodded, "Visiting the old man on behalf of the Bartram family."
"Then hurry in."
Eloise moved her foot to the side to let her in.
"How is the old man now?" Earlene asked in a whisper as she walked inside.
"It's the same old thing."
Earlene placed the flowers gently on the bedside table, then turned her head to look at the old man in his bed, a sigh escaping her lips.
"I remember the last time I saw the old man, he was a hale and hearty old man, I never thought something like that would happen."
Eloise pursed her lips and smiled bitterly, "I didn't expect that either."
Hearing the sadness in her voice, Earlene twisted her head and looked at her, "The old man will surely wake up."
Her reassurance made Eloise curl her lips, "Thank you."
Earlene raised her eyebrows and, with a turn of phrase, asked, "Why don't we go out and have a chat?" "Yeah."
Eloise said yes without saying a word.
The two men went downstairs to the garden, found an empty bench and sat down.
Earlene looked around and saw a number of patients walking around and couldn't help but lift the corners of her lips, "It's a nice day so they're all down walking around." Something suddenly occurred to her and she turned her head to look at Eloise, "Isn't your mother in this hospital too? Why don't you take her down for a walk?" "She's tired and rested."
Only after answering did Eloise realise something was wrong and furrowed her thin brow, "How did you know my mother was here?"
"I ..." Earlene averted her eyes a little uncomfortably, "My brother was the one who told me."
"Your brother?" Eloise's brow furrowed tighter.
"You would know about the Bartram family in Kyoto, wouldn't you?" Earlene asked.
Eloise nodded, "I know."
Suddenly, she exclaimed, "Could you be that Bartram family?"
Earlene frowned, not understanding for a moment why she was getting worked up.
"That's the one..." Eloise didn't remember the name for a moment, she thought hard and then asked, "Who are the Rawlins to you?" "My brother." Earlene responded faintly.
At that, Eloise couldn't help but smile, "It's a small world."
On the day of the charity dinner, she was saved by Earlene and then her cousin introduced Rawlins to Hector, so they are the same family.
Earlene was slightly surprised, "Do you know my brother?"
"I know you. Just from the dinner the other day."
Earlene also laughed at this, "It really is a small world then."
Eloise looked up at the sky, "I didn't know many people when I came to the capital, and you were the first one I met. I'm really grateful that you saved me that night." "That's as it should be." Earlene gave her a look and continued, "If you get bored in Kyoto later, you can call me. I'll walk you around everywhere."
"I grew up in Kyoto, and I know exactly where the fun is."
"Really?" Eloise turned her head and looked at her expectantly.
Earlene laughed, "Of course it's true."
"Then when my husband goes back to City J later, I won't be bored alone."
Earlene's eyes flickered slightly as she inquired, seemingly unintentionally, "When is your husband coming back to City J?"
"Don't know yet." Eloise raised an eyebrow at her, "Maybe tomorrow or maybe in a few days."
"Oh," Earlene nodded and asked again, "It's really impressive that your husband, Mr Hector, is chairman of the Rogers Group at such a young age."
Once she heard the compliment about Hector, Eloise was proud of herself but said modestly, "Not bad, generally good."
"And your two children are adorable." Earlene quipped again.
The corners of Eloise's mouth were grinning from ear to ear as she continued modestly, "Not bad, not bad at all."
She hadn't noticed Earlene's eyes become a little strange.
Like resentment, like jealousy.
Earlene went quiet and Eloise turned her head in wonder.
The former quickly averted her eyes and smiled, "I didn't expect to see you today, it was really nice."
Eloise laughed, "Same."
Earlene looked sideways, "Then we'll be friends from now on."
"Hmm. Friends."
Eloise is genuinely happy about the first friend she has made in Kyoto.
