Love Comes To Me
Chapter 972: Messed up

When they arrived at the police station, Edgar learned that the man who had been arrested had been taken to hospital. "What's going on?" He asked after the police officer in charge of the case.

"I don't know what he ate, but he was throwing up and pooping particularly badly, so we took him to the hospital."

"Throwing up and pooping?" Edgar turned his head to look at Hector, what was so wrong with this?

"Which hospital?" Hector asked.

"It's the nearby First Hospital."

Hector and Edgar rushed to First Hospital where the police said they were, asked the nurse and went straight to the man's ward.

There were police men guarding the entrance to the ward and they were stopped from entering.

"I'm his boss, I should be able to see him, right?" Edgar asked tentatively.

The other party shook his head, "No, the patient is not in a good condition, you cannot see him at the moment."

"Not promising?" Edgar frowned, "What do you mean by that?"

"To tell you the truth, he's very sick and the doctors can't replace out what's causing it yet, so there's no way to target treatment."

The implication is that people will die.

Edgar laughed, a sneer in his smile, "How did this happen when he was arrested by you at the police station and must have been eating what you gave him by the police?" The other side was silent.

Edgar took a deep, sombre breath.

If that person dies, there will be no proof of the fire when the time comes.

No, he could never let that happen.

Edgar glanced at the police man and, when the other man wasn't looking, pushed the man out of the way and barged in.

The action was so fast that Hector couldn't stop him in time.

The police men rushed in to follow them.

Edgar stood still, looking incredulously at the man in the hospital bed with the oxygen mask on, his hands falling to his side and clenching slowly. When I saw her this morning, she was fine, why is she lying here now?

He can't take it!

"He's faking it, isn't he?"

Edgar turned his head to glare at the police officer and repeated the question, "He faked his illness on purpose to get away with it, didn't he?" "You're questioning the police?" The other man looked at him expressionlessly.

"If not, it's only been a few hours and he's like this?!" Edgar questioned in an agitated tone, pointing at the man in the hospital bed.

"We thought it was strange too, but it's true, the doctor had the condition there."

Edgar was about to say something else when Hector spoke up to stop him, "Edgar, calm down."

"Hector, I ..." Edgar was in a hurry.

If the fire is not dealt with properly, there is no way he can answer to the board.

His grandfather had given him the Khan Group and he didn't want to just give it away.

"I understand how you feel, but that's the way it is now."

Hector glanced at the man in the hospital bed, his eyes taboo.

"If you don't believe me, you can ask the doctor." The police man said.

Edgar took a deep breath, calmed down and asked, "Did he have problems from eating your food? Or was there some other reason?"

"It was a breakfast prepared by our bureau." The other side was truthful.

"That means you police are responsible, he was the only witness to this warehouse fire at Khan Group."

Speaking of which, Edgar felt a surge of depression go straight to his chest and almost got excited again.

"We will do our best to resuscitate him and we will also do our best to investigate the fire case."

At this point in time, a police reassurance is as good as nothing to Edgar.

"I'll get the best doctor myself."

Throwing down the gauntlet, Edgar and Hector left straight away.

"Damn!"

Edgar slapped the steering wheel heavily, his face full of resignation and exasperation.

Hector gave him a sidelong glance and spoke calmly, "It is now certain that the fire in the warehouse was not an accident, but man-made."

"But who was it?" Edgar racked his brain but couldn't think of anyone with a heart so evil as to do such an underhanded thing.

"Enemies in the mall?" Hector raised an eyebrow.

Edgar shook his head, "No. The Khan Group has made very few enemies over the years. Even if they did, they wouldn't have been able to do it that hard." "Since they are not enemies, they are one of their own."

"What do you mean?"

Hector analyzed in a light voice, "If you had major problems after taking over the Khan Group, the board would certainly have an opinion, who would end up benefiting?" Edgar thought for a moment and his eyes oohed and aahed, "Arlice and Goode."

Hector did not answer yes or no, but was silent.

"But, would they really do that? So many herbs being burnt will affect the Khan Group, and then again they are Khan family people."

Edgar is not very convinced that it was two cousins who did it.

Hector's mouth curled up in a few sneers, "Nothing is impossible for the sake of power."

Edgar thought for a moment, then started the car, "Then I'll go and ask them for clarification."

He really does act too impulsively.

Hector sighed helplessly, "Will they admit it if you ask?"

Edgar knew that of course he wouldn't, but he was resigned to it.

"Don't worry, as long as they're doing it, there will be a next step."

Just as Hector spoke, Edgar's phone rang.

It's his assistant.

He picked up and immediately the assistant's voice came over the other side shouting, "President, the board of directors are here, they want to see you." What's due is still coming.

"Grandpa will give you Khan Group because he trusts you and believes you will run it well." Hector said.

Edgar suddenly laughed, "They really underestimate me."

He did get anxious today, so he messed up.

Since he suspected that it was one of Arlice and Goode, it was all the more reason for him to calm down and be composed in the face of what was about to happen.

One can feel that his whole being has become different and his demeanour has become much more determined.

The corner of Hector's mouth curled into a plausible smile.

...

Arlice returned to the company and immediately contacted all the directors to tell them all about the warehouse fire.

The directors exploded at the news and rushed to the office to ask for clarification.

He was not expecting to replace anything, so he became even more angry.

"Edgar isn't hiding and afraid to see us, is he?" A director angrily questioned Edgar's assistant.

Although the assistant was flustered, she explained calmly, "Mr Cranshaw, it's not what you think, the CEO is there to investigate the fire."

"An investigation?" Mr Cranshaw grunted, "Didn't he keep the fire under wraps so he wouldn't let us know about it?"

"Mr Cranshaw, this is another misunderstanding on your part. The fire will be suppressed because once it is reported in the media, our stock market in Khan Group will be affected and it will not be good for everyone." The directors did not say anything about the assistant's explanation this time.

Mr Cranshaw's anger lowered slightly and he ordered sternly, "Call him and tell him to come and see us immediately."

"Yes."

The assistant took orders and turned to walk away to make a phone call.
