Love Comes To Me
Chapter 998: Life at Risk

In the early hours of that morning, Edgar received a call from the hospital.

"Mr Farabee, the doctors are now resuscitating Frankson and the situation is not very promising, come to the hospital at your convenience." The nurse's words on the other end of the phone instantly swept away Edgar's sleepiness.

"I'll be right there."

When Edgar arrived at the hospital, there were several police officers standing in front of the resuscitation room.

"What's going on?" He ran up and asked sharply.

"Someone injected Frankson with a poison." A police officer said back.

Edgar thought he had heard wrong, "What did you say? The poison?"

"Well, someone disguised as a nurse entered the ward on the pretext of checking in and injected Frankson with the poison."

The police answered in more detail this time.

Edgar, alarmed, took a deep breath and asked, "So what's the situation now?"

"The doctors are doing all they can to save him, but the nurse has just come out and said that the situation is very bleak and that he may not live." "How did that happen?"

Edgar muttered, and he closed his eyes for a long moment before he could calm down.

"Did you get the man?" Edgar opened his eyes and looked at the policemen.

"Still checking." The policeman paused, "It might be a bit difficult to check since the other party has been in disguise."

"Difficult or not, we have to get the man. frankson may know the cause of the warehouse fire, but more importantly, he's an employee of the khan group and I can't let anything happen to him." "That's where we come in, and we'll do everything we can to get the man."

After the doctors did their best to save Frankson's life, but he was not yet out of danger and was admitted to the intensive care unit.

Through the glass window, Edgar looked at the motionless man in the hospital bed with a stony expression.

"President." Ivor arrived in a hurry.

Edgar said in a quiet voice, "Inform Frankson's family."

Ivor was a little taken aback, "Are you sure?"

They have kept Frankson's family in the dark since his accident, most notably because they were afraid they would come to the office if they found out.

They wanted to try not to be distracted by other things until they had got to the bottom of the warehouse fire.

Edgar looked at him sideways, "He may be dying, and if we don't inform his family, the Khan Group will be responsible if the man does die."

"Good, then I'll go and contact his family now."

Ivor left in the same hurry as when he arrived.

Edgar looked once again at Frankson in the ICU and also turned to leave.

...

Edgar went straight to the office and his car was just parked when he saw Arlice's car drive past his own.

He frowned slightly, opened the door and got out of the car, looking up in the direction where Arlice had parked.

Arlice got out of the car, looked up just in time to see him, froze, then reacted and raised her steps towards him. "Edgar, you're so early today?"

Edgar curled his lips, "I'm learning from you, cousin."

"You say that...," Arlice said, shaking his head in disbelief.

Edgar's eyes flickered slightly and he pretended not to say, "Frankson is in a bad way, the doctor said he might not live."

Having said that, he stared intently at Arlice.

"What?" The other person looked shocked, "What's going on? I thought it had gotten better?"

Edgar narrowed his eyes, "How do you know he's gotten better?"

"Huh?" Arlice obviously panicked a little, but quickly calmed down again and asked rhetorically, "As a vice president, can't I care about the company's employees too?" "Yes, of course."

Edgar gave him a deep look and lifted his steps towards the lift entrance.

As soon as he turned around, Arlice's face immediately sank, his gaze fixed grimly on his back.

It was a pity that he tried to set him up, but it was a waste of effort.

Even without turning around, I could feel Arlice's gaze that wanted to poke a hole in his body.

Edgar grimaced, seeing how much longer he could pretend.

...

City J.

Eloise looked at Hector standing on the balcony talking on the phone and frowned slightly, something hadn't happened again, had it?

As he was thinking this, he saw the man who had turned his back on him turn around and walk in with raised steps.

His face was a little stony.

Nothing has really happened, has it?

Her heart immediately lifted and she asked anxiously, "Has something happened to the Khan family again?"

Hector put the phone on the table before he returned, "Frankson was injected with a toxic agent and is in a life-threatening condition." Eloise was shocked.

It's horrible!

Who on earth could be so vicious as to inject a patient with a poisonous agent?

It is clear that the intention is to put people to death.

"Any arrests?" Eloise asked afterwards.

"The police are still looking into it and should have someone in custody soon."

Eloise's brow furrowed, "What about Frankson now?"

"The man was resuscitated, but he's not out of danger yet."

The more Eloise thought about it, the angrier she became, "How can someone be so vicious, does they have no conscience at all?" "The most vicious things can be done for profit."

Hector rubbed her head, "Well, don't worry about it. edgar will sort it out himself."

Eloise sighed heavily, "He's really had a bad time as president, it would have been easier not to take over the Khan Group at the time."

"If you want to wear a crown, you must first bear its weight."

Hector put his arm around her shoulders and continued, "He'll grow up a lot after this."

"Let's hope so."

Eloise thought about it and asked, "Why don't we make another trip to Kyoto?"

"What can you do if you go?" Hector asked her rhetorically.

"I can't, but you can." Eloise looked at him with anticipation.

Hector laughed helplessly, "Okay, whatever you say."

...

Hector's mother's brow furrowed when she learned they were going to Kyoto again, "You've only been back a few days, and you're leaving again?" "Mum, something's come up with the Khan family and Hector and I are going away for a few days and then we'll be back." Eloise said.

"You talk about a few days, how can it be just a few days?" Hector's mother sighed, "Forget it, you guys can go if you want."

Eloise bit her lip, "Mum, are you angry?"

Hector's mother shook her head, "I'm not. I just don't want you tossing and turning so much, it'll be too much for your body to handle." So it's her body that hurts.

Eloise was impressed.

"Mom, I'll be fine. Besides, when we get to Kyoto, my brother-in-law will take good care of me, so you can relax a hundred and twenty times." Hector's mother patted her hand and smiled, "I know."

"Mom, you're so sweet." Eloise took her arm and rested her head affectionately on her shoulder.

"What about feeling good about me, take care of yourself." Hector's mother took her hand in hers and said softly.

"Don't you worry, I will." Eloise held up her hand in a swearing gesture.

Hector's mother burst out laughing, "You're a real ... kid."

Eloise leaned on her shoulder and laughed heartily.
