Anastasia leisurely rode Moonlight through the valley, rejoicing at the feeling. Riding wasn't as difficult as she thought it would be, as long as she wasn't moving too quickly it didn't hurt her belly.

She and Julia were going to spend the day in the forest behind the compound, where in the center of it there was a little pond for them to relax in. The beta had rushed back with Bunnie because she had forgotten the basket of food and only brought the blankets and left Anastasia halfway to the forest. The omega doubted that he would spend that much time alone before Julia arrived anyway with how slowly they were traveling.

The omega reached the start of the forest and went down the path to the pond, admiring the beautiful weather. It had retained the day prior, but everything looked dry and lively as if the water had rejuvenated the plants. To get to the start pond you had to walk a couple of meters down the edge, but Anastasia wasn't planning on doing that anyway, she wasn't in the mood to do more than dip her feet in when Julia arrived.

She ungraciously got off Moonlight, huffing a little at the weight of the pups when she got her feet on the ground again. It was getting pretty hard to move, and if she was turning around or doing anything involving changing the direction of her body she had to do it slowly, or it would feel like her bones were dislocating.

Anastasia walked to a nearby tree and tied Moonlight on it, using her free hand to support the base of her belly. The horse was neighing a bit and being less cooperative than normal. It annoyed the omega a bit, the horse had a habit of being like that. She lightly scolded him and walked away, settling on the edge of the bank a quarter around the pond from him and sat down. Julia should be able to see him from there.

Moonlight was neighing a little bit more, rustles being heard in the distance. Anastasia took longer than she should realize that it wasn't coming from the same place the horse was. It immediately put her on edge for a second, none of the fighters were in this area, but even if they were she shouldn't feel so worried.

She looked around frantically, her head whipping in every direction as she tried to figure out where the voices were coming from. The voices stopped after a while, but she could still smell wolves approaching her and they did not smell friendly.

Anastasia stood up and walked toward Moonlight frantically, wanting to get out of here as soon as possible. These wolves didn't have horses, so she could probably outrun them if it didn't matter if it would cause a strain on her because it was better than being around an unknown threat.

She had completely forgotten that this path was also used by travelers too, and not just the fighters.

Just before she could get within two meters of the horse, she was surrounded by wolves, none of them looking familiar at that moment. Anastasia stopped walking abruptly and stayed completely still, trying to figure out who they were and what they were doing. None of them were from her pack.

The alphas were sniggering around her, not speaking but just looking at her. Anastasia knew that if she wasn't pregnant, she could probably hop onto Moonlight and run away before they could get to her, but with the bump it was impossible.

She signaled through her bond that she wasn't okay, hoping that the alphas should be able to act quick enough and come to her. The omega closed her eyes and did just that for a few seconds, the alphas not doing anything except walking around her. When she opened his eyes he was shocked.

A face had appeared in front of him. Tall and ugly. Raphael.

The alpha didn't even bother talking but instead grabbed the omega with the nastiest look on his face and dragged her away from his horse, his grip bruising.

The alpha let go of her suddenly and yanked her forward so that she stumbled down the edge of the pond. She rolled down the side and lay in a curled-up position at the bottom, feeling blood trickling down her side.

Anastasia whimpered from the sudden movement, completely unprepared for the situation she was faced with. The signal in his bond became frantic. She was in danger. The alphas were responding with worry, hopefully already trying to replace her.

There were a couple of cuts on his hand now from the fall, his side scratched badly from the landing. Anastasia had learned to fall on her side or back if she felt himself tripping up to save the pups from harm.

"You whore," the alpha shouted and stomped down the bank to her. Anastasia whimpered even louder at that.

"Not only is your hair white but you are pregnant. You kept such secrets away from your mate, you are a disgrace."

The omega didn't even have the chance to breathe before she was harshly yanked up and guided back up the bank, the speed was too quick for her so she stumbled a lot, her legs now had a few cuts too.

There was a wagon on the path, and that was when Anastasia knew exactly what was going to happen.

The first thing that came to her mind wasn't his mates, it was fear. The fear wasn't for his life, or for being torn away from his home, but for her unborn pups above herself. That was enough to leave her trembling uncontrollably.

She knew what they would do, they would tear the pups out from her, or kill them after they were born and then mate her. In the end, if she died it would be for good riddance as she knew they viewed her as a sinner.

Body shaking from pure fear, the instincts deep inside her omega clawed out to the surface, fighting off her human side. Her omega completely took over as a cry racked through her body, leaving everyone around her temporarily stunned.

An omega cry.

They only ever happened when the omega was in danger, the cry would be let out in fear of them

or their pups, eliciting the wild side of their mate to take full control on the other side of the bond.

On the other side of the compound, Both of the twins stopped what they were doing in shock. They were suddenly overtaken with anger and protectiveness, the feeling overriding any other senses and rationality. With vigor, both of them transformed into their wolf forms, leaving those around them running in fear.

Anyone in their way was in danger.

Both wolves howled deeply, the sound resonating throughout the whole pack and the land nearby them. Anastasia heard the noise from where she was, the sound bringing her comfort where others were petrified.

Nobody reacted for several long moments, just standing there getting impacted by the noise. It wasn't just one howl but two powerful alpha howls, it affected everyone and left them at a standstill for a while. Anastasia tried to use this as an opportunity to break out of the alphas grasp but fell right after succeeding.

Raphael looked down at her in shock, realizing what she had done. His face contorted into anger again and a flash of silver emerged from his pocket.

Before the knife could move towards her, a large black body flew past his head, kicking him to the ground and swiftly removing his head. Another black body stood directly on top of her, caging her under the wolf's belly. Leo.

The wolf looked around for a second above her, before lowering his hind legs into a sitting position. Anastasia leaned against the stomach. Leo's front paws surrounded her, his head lowered as he was shielding her from the eyes of others. The wolf kept his eyes focused on the surroundings, scanning for any danger nearby. Anastasia sobbed into his coat, the adrenaline still in her blood and the fear still apparent. She knew she was safe, her mates were here, but she still felt scared.
