Master of his heart (Max and Brielle) -
Chapter 1293
Peyton was over the moon and quickly spun around, calling out to Emma.
"Emma, come here! This lady said our tips are totally fine, no lawsuits or anything. The company's looking for you because of something else."
Emma, standing a bit away, wasn't as clueless as Peyton. She recognized the suits surrounding Brielle as Stellar Stage Entertainment's top brass, having seen them before during her visits to the company. Anyone who could make the executives bow and scrape like that had to be at the very top.
Seeing Emma hesitate, Peyton hurriedly closed the gap, dragging her over.
"Leona accused us of stealing her bracelet, remember? Well, it was this lady who helped me sell my bracelet last time. She even took me to a place to pawn gold. And all your makeup and clothes? She helped me pick them out. She mentioned she works at Stellar Stage Entertainment and said you two would meet eventually. I just didn't expect it to be this soon."
Peyton grew more excited as she spoke, but her eyes were still red from crying earlier. Brielle took in Emma for the first time, noting her striking looks and bold fashion sense. Emma had a healthy, wild beauty that felt oddly comforting.
Brielle nodded slightly, "If it suits you, that's what matters."
Emma was at a loss for words until Donny, the agent who had lectured the streamers before, approached. Seeing Brielle, he greeted her.
"Mr. Haywood, is the meeting over?"
Hearing "Mr. Haywood," Emma stiffened. That was Stellar Stage Entertainment's President-Brielle. Within the company, Brielle was almost a legend. Though Emma had spent little time at Stellar Stage Entertainment, whenever employees mentioned the president, it was always with high praise.
The company had a notorious past, mistreating artists and engaging in unsavory practices, earning a terrible reputation. But since Brielle took over, she cleaned house, firing more than half of the executives and installing a suggestion box in the lobby. Any executive reported would undergo a thorough investigation, making the current executives very cautious.
Brielle's name was almost mythical within Stellar Stage Entertainment, revered by streamers. Not just for being a woman achieving what even men couldn't, but for her sheer influence. Emma had heard snippets about her, but the attitude of the executives said it all.
But Emma never imagined that the person who had kindly taken her mother to a gold shop and helped her choose cosmetics and clothes would be Brielle, the high and mighty president. When she and her mother first arrived in Beaconsfield, they had encountered Leona, who made things difficult for them, demeaning and mocking them. Brielle was different-breathtakingly beautiful and genuinely kind-hearted.
She must be what they call a real-life fairy.
At that moment, Brielle looked over and extended her hand politely, "Nice to meet you."
Emma, flattered but quick to respond, extended her hand in return. "Mr. Haywood, nice to meet you."
Peyton, unfamiliar with corporate titles, didn't realize "Mr. Haywood" was Brielle's title and thought it was her name. She was thrilled because her daughter wouldn't have to face a lawsuit. "Emma, this is the kind soul I told you about. I'm so glad we ran into her so soon. She can vouch for us against Leona, who's still using that incident to tarnish us. I genuinely pawned my own gold."
Emma wanted to tell her mom to hold back, that this person was the president. But then Donny spoke up.
"We came to talk to you about this very issue. The company won't stand for such malicious competition and will replace a way to clear things up." After enduring so much criticism, it was time for the company to take action. Emma was even more shocked; it wasn't about the tips after all. Brielle gestured towards her office, her tone neutral, "Let's talk inside."
Once inside the office, Peyton saw Brielle sitting behind an elegant desk, the leather chair looking quite upscale. Only then did she realize she might have overstepped earlier, suddenly feeling awkward.
