Tremaine gave a hum of acknowledgement. "Start the car, we'll go there now."

This sudden impulse to search for Ruth, it wasn't because of anything major. It's just that the Quartley Family still owed her a debt. Madam Quartley had said that she didn't want either the villa or the money.

Even if she rejected it, Tremaine still wanted to give her a sizable sum of money.

As a helpless woman all alone in the world, money was very much a necessity for her.

As for whether Ruth would accept his gift once he found her, that was outside his scope of consideration.

The reason for that being that since Tremaine was the one to give it, Ruth had to accept it whether she wanted to or not!

Sheldon drove the car at high speed and before they knew it, they were approaching Clementine Residential.

Clementine Residential was a small guesthouse and naturally, wasn't in a good location. As it's situated on a narrow, winding road, should a car drive in like this it would be a very tight squeeze.

Fortunately, Sheldon's driving skills were very much on par, hence this type of trail was not a problem for him at all.

Though the same couldn't be said for others.

Preslie Fernandez was one of them.

For even though she possessed quite the talent in driving, in the end she was still a newbie. Things were fine when she drove on the wide, open road, but the moment she entered this narrow, winding trail, she got flustered. That flustered state turned into full-blown panic the moment she saw another car headed towards their front.

She had intended to swerve aside but the trail was just too narrow for that maneuver and Preslie's skills were also limited. Therefore, with a loud 'bang!', she crashed into the other car. Fortunately, both Preslie and Yesseca had fastened their seatbelts. Moreover, the other car was able to evade them in time, thus they were uninjured.

"It's over, it's all over, I crashed into another car." Although there were no injuries, Preslie was extremely anxious still, "That seemed to be a luxury car, oh no, we have to pay for it now." Yesseca reassured her, "It's already our major luck that everyone turned out fine. Let's get down from the car quickly and check on the other one, see if they're all right."

With that said, both of them got out.

At the same time, the driver of that car got out as well.

It was Sheldon.

When the three pairs of eyes met, they were all dumbfounded.

"Mr. Hawls, how come it's you?!" Preslie couldn't help but exclaim in surprise.

That exclamation reached Tremaine's ears inside the car.

When the two cars crashed into each other, Sheldon had got out to check on the situation while

Tremaine sat there, unbothered. The moment he heard Preslie's voice though, he subconsciously looked over before his gaze froze and his whole body stiffened.

At this moment, it was as if the world had turned into nothingness.

And only Yesseca was standing there in the void.

After a few seconds in that frozen state, Tremaine's legs brought him out of the car without much thought or control from him.

If Preslie and Yesseca were surprised by Sheldon's presence, Tremaine's appearance left them absolutely dumbstruck.

Yesseca quickly made to turn away without much conscious thought only to force herself to halt mid-step.

Why did she have to leave??

Just because Tremaine had appeared?

No!

That's more of a reason not to leave!

She wanted to tell herself, as well as Tremaine, that the feelings that she held in the past were long forgotten! That's why in front of Tremaine, she could keep a calm mind and@gnore him!
