Rebirth of the Prime Dragon Master -
Chapter 188 It Was Actually You
"Am I worthy enough to rob you now?" Rocky raised his eyebrows as he mocked the frightenedsquad leader. He hid in fear, completely trembling in dread. One would wonder where the arrogantleader who he used to be went.
"Yes. You are. You are competent enough now. You can take these. They're all yours now," the squadleader answered, his voice shaking in fear. Soon enough, he and his men fled with their tails inbetween their legs.
When the other spirit manipulators were gone, Rocky herded the bald camels together and madethem pull the two carts he just robbed. After leading them to where he captured the Dark HeavenInsects, he dismounted the woods that previously occupied the carts and replaced them with thefreshly captured Dark Heaven Insects. He had Uriah and Rubygon leading the camels on the wayback. It was indeed a fruitful journey.
But their trip was interrupted constantly. Rocky knew better and remained careful around thesquads of spirit manipulators patrolling the northeast military camp. He could not afford bumpinginto them. With all the tiptoeing around the other military personnels, it took Rocky almost theentire day to reach the Ghost Village.
Rocky made the bald camels help with the excavation of the cave in the middle of the Ghost Village.Just like what he did last time, he hid these two Dark Heaven Insects in the den. The den beneaththe Ghost Village was spacious enough for seven to eight Dark Heaven Insects. If it ever got toocrowded, he could always expand the den. Space was not an issue.
After knocking the two Dark Heaven Insects unconscious with the Centipede Dragon venom, Rockywent back up to the surface. He headed towards the bald camels and unbridled them.
"You are all free now," Rocky told the camels while gently patting their heads. He could not help butfeel sorry for these creatures for they were ruthlessly enslaved by the soldiers.
The bald camels seemed to understand what Rocky just told them. They let out a cry and looked ateach other for a few seconds. They then lowered their heads, as if trying to show Rocky theirgratitude. They galloped out of the Ghost Village in a herd with an elder one leading them.
Now that the camels were freed, Rocky took his time walking back to the military camp with Uriahand little Rubygon.
'I might need to head over to the town tomorrow. I have to forge giant cuffs to constrain the DarkHeaven Insects. I could also sell the materials I collected from the wild spirit-manipulated beasts. The sales might just be able to cover the expenses for forging the giant cuffs, * Rocky thought tohimself.
Rocky and his companions finally reached the military camp. He sent Uriah and little Rubygonstraight to his house before heading to the beast farm. Upon his arrival to the beast farm, he wasinstantly greeted by Sheridan's intense castigation. It was nothing unusual for Rocky. He was gettingchastised because he was gone for almost an entire day.
"What are you doing just standing there? Can't you see it's almost dark? You have to finish cleaningthe whole of the beast farm before it's too dark to see!" Sheridan was fuming. He did not linger andwait for Rocky's answer. Instead, he left in a hurry, as if he was summoned somewhere else.
"What an ill-tempered old goat! I was just a little late today. No big deal. It's really not something Ishould be scolded for. But I am in such a good mood today. I am not letting you ruin this for me. Iwill forgive you despite everything you just said and I won't argue with you anymore,” Rocky saiddespite having no one around to hear it. He made a face the moment Sheridan turned his backagainst him. What a very lucky day for him. He captured two Dark Heaven Insects in just a singleraid! He had also captured another one prior. Two of them were at the first grade of the three-starswhile the other one was at the second grade of the three-stars. If things went well, he would have atleast two primary Dark Heaven Eggs within two months. The breeding period for Dark HeavenInsects at the first grade was less than two months. It was around three months for those at thesecond grade. Meaning, he would be able to harvest one medium Dark Heaven Egg every threemonths. These Dark Heaven Eggs would be of huge help in elevating his power.
He would be able to get his hands on at least one medium Dark Heaven Egg and about fourprimary ones every three months. It was what every spirit manipulator's dream was made of. Forsomeone high ranking, like Commander Marin, a primary Dark Heaven Egg is given only every threemonths. Yet Rocky has a mine that produced Eggs exclusively for him. What a blessing for a spiritmanipulator!
Additionally, there were only two Dark Heaven Insects in the home base of the Crimson DragonGroup. Rocky, a sole spirit-manipulator, had three in total. He was in such a huge advantage.
If other spirit manipulators were to replace out about Rocky's collection they would be gritting theirteeth in envy. With a simple calculation of the breeding period of the eggs, they would be able toestimate Rocky's power surge with the help of the Dark Heaven Eggs.
Indeed, with Rocky's access to Dark Heaven Eggs, his power would skyrocket in a year. That wouldearn him a sure spot in the history books.
However, Rocky was still unsatisfied. He needed to upgrade his strength more. He was nowherenear stopping from achieving a greater height. He planned to expand his search area in hopes ofcapturing a few more. He went to the places where he captured the Dark Heaven Insects based on ahunch. It was possible there were still other places that harbored Dark Heaven Insects. He was readyto capture them all.
The Gehenna Border was comprised of multiple areas under the jurisdiction of different countries.Rocky knew these places to be more dangerous than the previous ones. If he were to stumble uponthese locations, it was possible that he would be executed. His desire to collect more Dark HeavenInsects did not surpass his will to live. He did not bother to venture in such dangerous locations. Hislife was of utmost importance if he were to upgrade his prowess.
Rocky exerted an insane amount of work in the beast farm. He also diligently practiced the MagicalEvaluation Skill. He did not notice how quickly the night fell upon him. The glow from the beastfarm soon died down as the night deepened.
Coincidentally, Marin was headed the beast farm to check on her war dragon, Verdanim.
It was rather dark, and the light on the beast farm had yet to be lit. As she was getting closer to thefarm, she heard someone talking in a hushed manner.
"Hey, can you please stay still? Just for a second, please? Gentle, okay?
There, there. You'll be okay soon. Please sit tight for one more second. I promise it's gonna be okaysoon.
Don't cry! It'll be bad if we catch other people's attention. I'm not doing anything bad to you, okay?I just—," the voice said.
Marin was shrouded with darkness when she heard the voice of a still unknown person. It wascoming from the darkened beast farm. She could not imagine someone from the military camp tobe doing something so terrible. With her blood boiling, she rushed towards the beast farm andfuriously scolded, "How dare you harass an innocent woman right inside the military camp!"
Before Marin was a man cuddling a spirit-manipulated beast. It was clear she misunderstood thewhole situation. Marin was praying for the ground to open up and swallow her whole. How shewished she could take her words back! She mistook a spirit-manipulated beast for a woman.
And just like everyone expected, it was Rocky.
Rocky was deeply immersed in his Magical Evaluation Skill training when a pretty woman appearedbeside him. He was so confused at why the pretty lady was frowning at him. When he was finallyable to see her face fully, he could not help but be frozen. The beautiful face frowning upon himwas Marin's.
