Chapter 456 Extreme Serendipity

The sun had long set by the time Rocky arrived at the forests surrounding the Myriad Beasts Group.Even after the entire day of trek, he still hadn't reached his destination. He was aiming to reach thesecond grade of the Heavenly Stage at the Myriad Beasts Ground. As he looked at the dim sky, herealized he still had a long way to go.

Rocky recalled the last time he was at the Myriad Beasts Ground. A few minutes in it, he foundhimself nearly meeting his death. He was well aware that the place was lurking with dangers.

But situation had changed now and the place was not as dangerous as it was before to him. He hadstrengthened himself a lot, especially his inner evil spiritual power. And he could reach the thirdgrade of the Heavenly Stage if he got the chance. Besides those, there was one person who played avery important part in it, Sabina. If it were not Sabina, Rocky would never think about going into thisplace for further cultivation.

"Isis must hate me now,” Rocky thought. "But," he continued out loud, "self-preservation is thenumber one rule of nature. There is nothing more important than protecting myself." As he walkedinto the forest with his four beasts, Rocky continued to talk to himself.

With no sun to cast shadows to guide him, Rocky was lost in time. He wasn't sure when he wouldreach the second grade of the Heavenly Stage. But it was alright, Rocky thought. This was what heprepared himself for, after all. He was determined that nothing would stop him from reaching hisdestination.

In his recent battle against the spirit manipulators of the Heavenly Stage from the Timber DeityEmpire, Rocky was introduced to his flaws. And it dawned on him that his biggest one was on theSpirit Possession. Spirit Possession was a great power to have. Through it, he could defeat powerfulenemies. However, he needed to do it within a certain time frame or, otherwise, he would riskgetting killed by the enemy. So he committed himself to only summoning the skill in times ofabsolute need.

Unfortunately, when Rocky activated his Spirit Possession during his encounter with the powerfulmaster Liam, he found that it was of not much use.

Rocky was able to tap into his animalization power. Animalization from the Mysterious BeastTransformation Skill was one of the four secret skills in the Wild Spirit Land. But during the time ofhis encounter, he only reached the first level and only activated basic animalization. Therefore, hebarely inflicted any harm on his enemies.

More than that, he only had his spiritual power linked with Rubygon and was only able to animalizewith it. And, while Rubygon's claws were strong and solid, Rocky was already in possession of theFrozen Wind Dagger. At that point, the animalization of Rubygon proved to be of little help to himin battle. It wasn't able to do anything that Rocky couldn't already achieve with his Frozen WindDagger.

The only reason he linked his spiritual power with Rubygon was to enhance its strength throughspiritual crystal. It was never for his own benefit.

Rocky knew that if he wanted to harness the full potential of animalization, he had to link withstrong beasts that possessed special powers, such as Uriah and Rainbow Glow Unicorn.

The scales of Uriah were rigid and had great resistance against heat. And the animalization couldput that scales on his own body which were similar to the one made by Spirit Possession. And indoing so, Rocky could acquire a strong armor.

And as for Rainbow Glow Unicorn, it can hide itself. And the special power could be much useful aswell in critical moments.

But it was not an easy work to tame the Rainbow Glow Unicorn. Therefore, it was better for Rocky toestablish a solid spiritual power link with Uriah as fast as possible. Then he could use the powers ofUriah and Rubygon through animalization selectively.

It was quite easier to build the link with claimed spirit-manipulated beasts than unclaimed spirit-manipulated beasts. Rocky had been trying to connect with Uriah all the way to the forest and hadmade a huge progress.

And there was another purpose of Rocky in doing that. He expected that Uriah could get upgradedthrough the spiritual power connection just like Rubygon did before and then Uriah could possiblymove to the four-star level.

After entering the peripheral forest, Rocky didn't wander around. Instead, he picked a shortcut intothe Myriad Beasts Ground. Along the way, he also hunted female spirit-manipulated beasts for hisDark Heaven Insect Queen.

The abdomen of the Dark Heaven Insect Queen became bigger day by day but Rocky was not surewhen it would lay the eggs finally. The pregnancy of human was about ten months though, thespirit-manipulated beast was not like the human. And human didn't lay eggs, either. Usually, theinsects could lay the eggs within months, even as short as one or two months.

So Rocky tried his best to improve the pregnant environment in the insect's ovaries, too.

It hadn't been one hour before they encountered with a group of wild spirit-manipulated beasts oftwo-star level. And the naughty Ghostly Ice Fox-wolf bared to those beasts before Uriah andRubygon noticed.

The Ghostly Ice Fox-wolf grew to the size of a wolfhound while it was still a little bit small comparedto a wild two-star spirit-manipulated beast. Thanks to the daily training of other three beasts, itsbrutish nature didn't fade off and it didn't show any fears. Of course, the Ghostly Ice Fox-wolf knewthe two powerful beasts would offer help.

Despite those powerful beasts, the Ghostly Ice Fox-wolf itself owned the blood of the spiritual beastas well as high-level war beasts. So its aptitude was excellent. Under appropriate instructions, itsrate of growth could be insane.

And Rocky himself had drawn a series of scientific cultivating method from Rubygon. It wouldn't belong before he tamed the Ghostly Ice Fox-wolf.

But Rocky decided to subdue the Rainbow Glow Unicorn first because the Rainbow Glow Unicornwas going into its adulthood anytime. It would be much harder to subdue an adult Rainbow GlowUnicorn. There was one special skill to subdue spiritual beasts in the Mysterious BeastTransformation Skill while the skill was flinty. The relationship between Rocky and Rainbow GlowUnicorn was more like friends. So he was reluctant to use that on Rainbow Glow Unicorn. And it maybe counterproductive if he used the skill.

Deep in his minds, Rocky knew what he needed most now was a chance, a chance where theRainbow Glow Unicorn would voluntarily submit to him. But the chance was rare. Unlike ordinarywar beasts, this spiritual beast species had its own thoughts and was able to distinguish good frombad.

So far, the Rainbow Glow Unicorn trusted Rocky. It followed him around because it felt like Rockywas harmless and it longed for his magical saliva. Soon, their relationship grew into co-dependence.Rocky made sure that the Rainbow Glow Unicorn continued to trust him. But, despite Rocky'sefforts, Rocky could not make the Rainbow Glow Unicorn submit to him. He could not make itbelieve that he could be its master.

And that trait in itself was what made it unique from other beasts. They had their own thoughts andbeliefs, similar to humans, and they did not waiver easily.

Taming the Rainbow Glow Unicorn remained challenging for Rocky. But Rocky was persistent onachieving so. After all, if he succeeded, he knew that he would be the first spirit manipulator to owntwo spiritual beasts

The Rainbow Glow Unicorn was an amazing treasure hunter. It was a master compared to all theother spiritual beasts. Though all spiritual beasts were gifted with treasure hunting abilities, none ofthem compared to the Rainbow Glow Unicorn.

Rainbow Glow Unicorns had extra-sensory perception that detected not just what was in thephysical world, but also those not obvious to the naked eye. It had the ability to see inside beasts.Last time, it even sensed the Water Essence Pill inside the body of a Three-tailed Aquatic Lizard.Rainbow Glow Unicorns were born treasure hunters.
