If it weren't for her, Basilwouldn't have died. After all, it was all because of her that Basil risked his life to help the CrimsonDragon Army.

"Revenge?" A smothered giggle left Alyssa's lips before she caved in and burst into a fit of laughter."What are you laughing at?" Marcia asked coldly.

"My brother's not dead. There's no need for me to take revenge.” Alyssa shrugged.

"Not dead? My disciple... she... she witnessed his death with her own eyes..." Marcia's eyes widenedwhen she heard Alyssa's words.

"It seems that you think that in order to keep a good reputation, Basil chose to perish with mybrother instead of betraying the Holy Dragon Empire and paying allegiance to the Timber DeityEmpire. I did guess that that's what you thought..." Alyssa said indifferently. It was within herexpectations before she even arrived that the Holy Dragon Empire thought that Basil died alongwith her brother.

"Isn't it true...?" Marcia couldn't help but ask. Alyssa's calm was unfeigned, which implied that herbrother really might not be dead yet.

"Although I really don't know much about what happened, my brother really is still alive. Basil savedhim. My brother said that on the way back to the Timber Deity Empire, they were ambushed by agroup of powerful mercenaries. They tried to escape but were caught. Moreover, they seemed tohave taken advantage of Basil's weakness..." Alyssa briefly explained.

"So you're saying that Basil didn't die with your brother during the battle, but was killed by others?But how did Basil save your brother? Why did he save him?" Marcia's brows furrowed when sheheard Alyssa's words. Even though she didn't really believe her, what she said was actually in linewith what she had long suspected. From what she knew of Basil's character, he wouldn't be sostupid as to choose to battle the Timber Deity Empire's prince to death. Moreover, with Basil'sstrength, even three masters at the Heavenly Stage wouldn't be able to force him enough to dosuch a reckless thing.

"Although I don't know why he saved my brother, my brother said that the one who hired themercenaries intended to sway Basil into killing my brother and frame him. But that person neverexpected that Basil would get my brother to fake his death,” Alyssa sneered. It sounded absurdbecause it was obvious that Basil and Alyssa's brother were enemies and yet, Basil saved his enemy'slife under the nose of mercenaries. It was obviously unbelievable.

"I don't care if you believe it or not. I'm only here to mourn Basil on my brother's behalf. If you wanta fight, I'll accept your challenge. But let me finish honoring Basil first." After uttering those words,Alyssa went straight into the mourning hall.

However, Lena had no intention of letting Alyssa get close to it at all and blocked her path.

"Get out of the way, little girl! Don't force me to attack you!" Alyssa snapped and glared down atLena, her aura flaring around her.

"Humph! You're just at the Divine Stage." No fear showed on Lena's face as she raised her hand andemitted a ray of golden orange light that quickly shot towards Alyssa.

Without even blinking, Alyssa also waved her hand and a strong spiritual power flew out. The twolights collided head-on.

However, Alyssa didn't expect Lena's light to merge with her spiritual power. It turned into a goldenorange light barrier that surrounded her on all sides.

It startled Alyssa for a moment before she was hit by a realization. "The power of the spiritual race?Who are you?"

"She's the Witch of our Holy Dragon Empire.” Marcia just smiled when she saw that Alyssa was at aclear disadvantage. Lena and Marcia stayed in the Dragon Master Clan together before, and Lenaalso had power that Marcia didn't have. Even Alyssa would be hard pressed to beat Lena.

It wasclear for all to see that Lena loved Basil deeply and Alyssa couldn't help but envy it, for she hadnever experienced that kind of love. She was unable to love someone the way Lena loved Basil.
