Sweet Twins Indulge in Daddy's Love
Chapter 177 The Thief

'Since the kids are not at home, I can stay with Nancy in the mansion in the suburbs for one night,' thought Charles.

It was quiet there and Nancy could take a rest.

Everyone felt better in a new environment.

Without thinking too much, Nancy agreed.

Charles bought some food and came early to pick up Nancy.

He kept checking the time. The consequence of being a doctor was that, she had to stay in the hospital for God-knows-how-long, when she performed surgeries.

The hospital staffs got off work, but Nancy was still working.

It was already dark outside.

Charles took an umbrella and walked into the outpatient building. He wanted to go upstairs and check what time Nancy would be off duty.

Also, he needed to go to the bathroom.

A few minutes later, Nancy came out of the elevator and walked down the stairs with the help of Erin.

Nancy had thought that Charles would pick her up. But as he was a busy man, it was possible that he had something urgent to deal with. Unfortunately, when she went downstairs, she didn't see him. She hailed a taxi with Erin.

When Charles came out from the washroom and went upstairs, Nancy had already left.

Shaking his head, Charles rushed to the ground floor to catch up with the taxi, but he didn't know where it was heading.

Since Erin's apartment was nearby, the taxi driver sent her home first.

Charles tried to chase them, but he lost the taxi, so he gave up and drove to their villa in the suburb.

It was getting darker and the rain poured heavier.

Nancy was exhausted from standing the whole day.

She leaned against the window and nearly drifted to sleep.

Because of this, she lost track of time.

It was gloomy when she arrived at the villa.

"Miss, I don't think there is anyone living here." The driver glanced at the villa, then turned to Nancy with worry in his eyes.

It was not a good idea for such a fragile girl to come here all by herself.

When Nancy looked at the flickering lights, she thought that Charles might be there. 'Should I just leave?' she thought. But she dismissed her own idea.

Every time she entered the operating room, she would turn off her phone.

This had become a habit.

With a sigh, she turned it on and called Charles.

While preparing for dinner, Charles heard the phone rang. When he figured it was Nancy, he answered it in a hurry.

"Charles, are you in the suburban villa now?" Nancy asked.

"Yes, I'm preparing dinner!"

Excitement was obvious is his voice.

"Well, it's good that you're home. I'm here..."

As she was about to push the car door open, a bolt of lightning lit up the sky followed by a roaring thunder.

Nancy heard a loud thud.

"Hey, Charles, what's wrong?" she asked anxiously.

But she didn't hear his voice.

"What's happened to you?" Her first thought was, Charles had a fall, so she hurried to the villa with an umbrella in her hand.

As if on cue, darkness filled the room as soon as she entered the house.

"Oh my God! I got caught in a downpour, and now the electricity is off. Are you kidding me?" Nancy began to explore in the dark. "Charles!"

Her voice was drowned by the sound of the thunder.

She was so scared that her heart hammered in her chest. It was enough to make her whole body shiver.

Her hand grazed to a big, long and slippery thing.

And there was water.

What was this?

Nancy touched it and it grew bigger and stiff.

"What's this?" She was so scared that she almost sat on the ground.

When the lightning flashed through the windows, a silhouette caught her eyes.

"Who are you? Why are you here?" Nancy stood up and tried to run away.

"Nancy, it's me!" Charles reached out to grab Nancy. He knew it was the circuit breaker, so he had just come out to check it, but he forgot where it was.

The sound of the thunderstorm jolted Nancy.

She even failed to recognize Charles' voice.

"You bad man! Stay away from me! You stay away from me..." Nancy fumbled forward.

"Nancy, it's raining cats and dogs outside. Where are you going?" Charles was anxious and confused at the same time.

But Nancy didn't listen to him. She was eager to replace Charles. Little did she know, the man who stood in right in front of her was Charles.

"Don't run, Nancy." Without thinking, he went after her.

Nancy's foot was sore, so she struggled to get up but rushed forward in a hurry.

She stumbled and fell.

As a result, Nancy had been locked in his arms.

"Who are you? I... I'm not afraid of you. My husband is here. You can tell me what you want. I promise to give it to you as long as you don't go too far." Even her teeth started chattering. Nancy had mistaken him as a thief and thought he wanted money.

Money was the last thing that Charles could have a problem with. He would definitely give it to him in exchange of Nancy.

Amusement crossed his eyes when he realized that Nancy must have thought he was a thief.

But he was more than happy to hear Nancy call him "husband".

Charles smiled cunningly. "I'm a thief, and you're a beautiful woman. What else do you expect me to ask for?"

No matter how stupid Nancy was, she could tell the underlying message.

Nancy breathed.

"Well... I want to discuss a matter with you. I'm here to look for my husband. Can you go to a woman who hasn't been married? My husband won't allow you to do that. If you offend him, perhaps he will kill you!" Nancy rolled her eyes at him.

"I just like you. What should I do?" His smile widened, and he thought it was fun to tease her.

Then he bit Nancy's lips in a dominating way.

"Well..." Nancy tilted her head away, but raindrops fell all over her face.

Charles became more unscrupulous and aggressive. It never occurred to him that kissing Nancy in the rain was such a wonderful thing.

Nancy waved her hand to resist. "Help! Charles!"

'Charles is here. Why doesn't he come to me?

What the hell is he doing?'

What happened a while ago suddenly crossed her mind.

Was Charles killed by the thief?

This idea terrified her more.

"What have you done to Charles, you bastard? If you kill him, I will never let you go!" Nancy shouted.
