Chapter 11

ROSIE POV

Another day in school. This time the arrogant jerk showed up. I tried my possible best to avoid him. Any path I see he follows that is similar to mine, I quickly change route immediately. I just didn't want to be near him so he won't have any reason to hurt my feelings. Finally it was lunch time. I decided to eat in the cafeteria because I collected a lot of tips yesterday so I can also buy something to eat.

I went to the cafeteria, ordered my food then looked for a lonely spot where I won't be noticed easily. I sat down and ate my food quietly. Eating alone is not actually that bad but I'm used to talking to Sun when I'm always alone. Today is a bit different because she isn't saying any word as she is still weak from her mate's rejection. I just hopes she heals soon and faster.

I was still eating when the chair in front of me was pulled and someone sat on it. I raised my head up to see it was Angel with her own tray which was filled with food. But why is she here?

I stared at her looking so confused with my mouth filled with chips.

"Hey Rosie hope you don't mind me joining you to eat." angel said smiling.

I chewed the chips in my mouth then swallowed it so that I can be able to answer her.

"But aren't you supposed to be eating with your mate?" I asked her.

"Well I decided to eat with you today because you are my friend." She answered smiling before she began to eat her pizza.

"But won't he feel offended that your here and not beside him?" I asked again.

"Rosie enough with your questions and just eat will you or does my presence disturb you?" she asked.

"No not at all. I'm just worried that your here and when your mate gets angry he comes for me when I'm alone in the dark." I said.

She laughed.

"You can't be serious. Why will you think such kind of thing. You watch too much movies. Beside Nat isn't like that." she said as she continued eating.

I couldn't help herself but I wasn't comfortable with the fact that she was sitting next to me. What if this is all a plan l? What if the arrogant jerk is looking for another way to humiliate me? What if....

My thoughts were interrupted when a set of individuals joined the table.

I watched with my eyes in opened as Angel's mate and his friend, the beta to be came and pulled a chair to sit.

Angel's mate sat close to her that was opposite me while the soon to be beta sat close to me.

I couldn't help but wonder why they are sitting here or was it because of Angel? Yes I think it's because of her.

I quickly bowed and greeted them.

"Raise your head up you don't need to bow to me for you are my mate's friend. Actually when she said she wanted to be your friend, I found it weird but now I'm at peace because I know you don't seems harmful." the soon to be gamma said. "Yeah that's true, sorry about last night. I didn't know that Evans will do such a thing like that. I truly apologize for his behavior." the soon to be beta said.

Wow just wow. Never in my wildest thought did I ever think that the gamma and beta will talk to me. I usually work for them from time to time but never for even once have they ever acknowledged me. I was still in shocked that I forgot to answer the soon to be beta.

"Hey Rosie are you okay? Close your mouth or you get germs." I heard angel say.

I quickly shut my lips. I didn't want to embarrass myself the more. That was when I remembered that I was yet to answer the beta.

"Am sorry beta for not answering you. It's just that..." and I was interrupted.

"Smith" he said.

"Huh?" I asked looking so confused.

"You can call me Smith and not beta. I'm not yet a beta so." he said as he tried to steal angel's pizza but she was quick to hit his hand. "But it's wrong to call you by your name. You are the soon to be beta." I said to him.

"Well as your soon to be beta, I command to call me by my name from now hence forth." he said to me looking so serious.

I couldn't disobey his command.

"Alright be..... Sorry I mean Smith" I said quickly correcting my mistakes.

"Good I can see you are a fast learner. What's your name if I may ask.?"

"Rosie." I answered.

"Alright Rosie just a little warning. From now hence forth we might be hanging out together." he said.

I didn't get what he meant at first so I had to ask.

"Hanging around, do you mean I will be joining you?" I asked looking confused.

"Of course. You are automatically our friend since Angel is your friend. That makes you our friend also." he said.

"But what about the alpha? I'm not sure he will be okay with this plan?" I asked feeling worried.

"Oh about Evans that one can be sorted out. Although I would like to ask, have you maybe offended him in any kind of way because I don't get why his always mean to you anytime he sees you." Smith asked me.

"I can't remember doing anything bad to him." I said.

'The only bad thing was I became his mate that's why I have to suffer so badly. I thought.

"Well I just hope he changes his perception about you because you seems like a nice person and you are very hardworking also. Yes I usually notice you at times. I was surprised when you were actually able to finish sweeping the whole of the school compound." he said as he put some chips in his mouth. "Well I'm used to working and it's already in my system that's why." I said to him.

I looked up to see Nate and Angel in their world of romance leaving just me and Smith to be talking. I watched them as they were talking, laughing and eating. They were so in love with each other and it's so obvious. It's so sweet watching both of them together but I know very well that I can't have this not now not ever.

I let out a sigh and looked at my remaining food.

"Well it's just me and you." I whispered.

I heard Smith laugh. I looked up to see what happened maybe I could laugh too. But I found nothing interesting happening. I turned to look at him wondering whether he has lost it.

My eyes met his eyes already looking at me. He was smiling at me maybe trying his best not to laugh any more. What's his deal? I decided to ask.

"What's wrong? Is there something on my face?" I asked.

"No not that. Is just that I heard what you said to your food. Well I also get that feeling because as you already know, I have not found my mate yet and trust me this two in front of us can so oppress someone with their love. So I just stick to my food since I'm the third wheel." he said making me laugh. Oops I forgot about wolf supernatural hearing. He could hear me well when I whisper a word.

"Well I'm glad that you are now in our circle at least I won't be the third wheel anymore because we both don't have a mate and we can just talk." he said smiling.

Well now I get why they insisted that do not judge a book by its cover. I have always thought that Smith here was a harsh snub who doesn't care about anyone except himself and his friends. I have viewed him as a proud person who loves to walk on his own and didn't like to be friends with people. But just sitting with him just for this past few minutes, I can tell that he is a very cool person.

"Hey Rosie I know I'm handsome and also a very hot sexy being but can you stop looking at me like that it's scary. Your smile makes you look like a cashimere cat." he said bringing me out of my thoughts.

"Oh I'm sorry" I said as I let out a nervous laugh.

"Its just that I'm surprised about your behavior and character that's all." I added.

"Hmm alright can I know why you are surprised about them?" he asked.

"Well I always saw you as a snub and a very proud person who doesn't like to associate himself with other people but I guess I was wrong. I judged you too quickly." I said.

"Well you are right. I can be a snub and also a proud person too but I have my reasons of being such. As the beta it's not everyone accept to my circle if I really want to be respected. I just pick a few people to roll with." he explained.

Now I understand why he is like. He actually has a point people would take you for granted if you don't show some attitude. And he needs people to respect him because he needs power over them if he was going to be their beta. "I understand now." I said.

"So can you tell me about yourself. Are your parents Omega's or what because you actually don't act like an Omega sometimes." he said.

"How do you know how an Omega act, and how exactly do they act because I haven't noticed anything." I asked surprised by what he said.

"Well let's say you are always on your own not caring about anyone around you. And I don't think I have ever seen you with any friends around. You are always alone. I actually look at you somethings when I walk pass you so I noticed it." he answered. "Well I wasn't born an Omega. I lost my parents and then my grandmother that's why I became demoted to the Omega rank." I said looking down to eat my chips that was remaining just a little. I was a slow eater.

"Oh I didn't know about your parents death. I'm sorry about that." he said.

I looked up to him and gave him a smile which was trying to pass the message that I was fine and didn't have to worry.

I was still smiling at him when I heard a very familiar voice which I can never forget say angrily. "WHAT'S GOING ON HERE?"
