SMITH

POV

"Hey man are you ready to work?" I asked Nate who just arrived with a frown on his face. I couldn't help but laugh at him. I knew very well that the last thing he wanted was to be here so I decided to tease him. "You know I don't want to be here at all. I rather be with Angel sleeping with her in my arms." he said with a frown on his face.

"Well you can't complain let's just hope the night goes fast so we could go and rest." I said to him patting his back.

"Well I'm at peace today because Rosie is staying with her." he said to me as we walked to the boarder to meet the rest.

"Rosie? Or is it today she was going to do a sleepover in your house?" I asked him.

"Yes it's today. Right now I'm not worried much because I know my mate isn't alone." he said.

"Yeah speaking of Rosie, I was wondering don't you think it's weird the way Evans treats her every now and then. Like I can't wrap it in my head what exactly she has done to make him hate her so much." I said to him.

"I have also thought about it too. I thought I was the only one who noticed he was acting weird whenever it comes to Rosie. I wonder what she did to make him hate her so much." Nate said.

"I truly feel bad for her. She is really a nice and lovely girl. I wonder why we never noticed her." I said.

"Well she is always herself maybe that's why we didn't notice her. And it's thanks to Evans and what he did to her in the restaurant that made us notice her." Nate said.

"That's right. But I think we need to talk to Evans. We need to replace out the main reason why he is acting in such manner to rosie." I said.

"But I thought we have work to do?" he asked looking at me confused.

"We can just show our faces then we leave and let them know we would return soon. Besides if we say we are going to meet the alpha to be they will understand." I said to him.

"Wow Smith I didn't know you were this brilliant." he said sarcastically.

"I was born brilliant you were just dump to notice." I said rolling my eyes.

"Alright fine I have heard you." he said smiling before we walked to Evans house together.

Well I'm actually more closer to Nate than with Evans while Evans is closer to me than with Nate for Nate let's just say his closer to his mate. Ever since he got a mate, he stopped spending late nights with me except whenever it's time for patrol supervision. Since Evans went for alpha academy and I had no other friend, I had to practically follow Nate and Angel as a third wheel although sometimes they make sure I don't feel like one.

Being lonely isn't nice. I also needed someone to talk to whenever my friends are busy or don't have my time. It got to a point that I went around the pack in search of my mate but couldn't replace her. It seems my mate isn't from this pack. I just can't wait to replace her. I would have gone out there in search for her but that's only after I am officially the beta but not now.

Right now I'm so happy to have Rosie join the team at least I would have someone to talk to and I won't be a third wheel anymore. Also since she doesn't have a mate, there won't be any problem.

I just hope to meet my mate someday and I promise the moon goddess no matter who she is she I would love her and accept her because she's mine.

We went to the territory boarder and met pack warriors on duty. After looking at the area in search for any threat and we were sure there was non, we excused ourselves using Evans as an excuse to leave.

We walked to the alpha's house. When we entered we met the Luna.

"Good evening luna." we both greeted.

"Evening boys. How are you two doing?" she asked with her familiar motherly smile on her face. She knows how to make everyone calm around around.

"We are okay. Sorry is Evans home?" Nate asked.

"Yes he is in his room. But before you go up I would like to ask you two something?" she said looking serious.

Nate and I looked at each other feeling scared maybe we did something wrong.

"Calm down you two it's just a friendly question. You don't have to look at each other like that." her voice broke us from our stare.

We both gave her a nervous smile before sitting down on the chairs in the dinning room.

"Well it's about Evans." she started.

The moment I heard Evans I calmed down. At least I'm sure it had nothing to do with us. I noticed Nate also calmed down also. Guess it's not only me who was on the edge. "What about Evans ma?" I asked.

"Do you know if he has found his mate yet?" she asked.

I looked at her with surprised written on my face. I turned to look at Nate and noticed that once again we shared the same look. I turned to look back at her.

"Sorry ma but why will you ask us such question? Besides I don't think Evans has found his mate yet because we would have been the first to know." I said they her.

"Well I can't shake off the feeling that he has one but his hiding it from us. I have been monitoring him and I noticed sometimes his not himself. And he loves locking himself in his room." she said looking so worried. "Don't worry ma. I'm sure there is nothing wrong with him and don't worry, the moment I replace out that he has a mate, I would come tell you first." I said to her.

"Alright Smith thank you. Well that's all for now, you both can go upstairs and meet him." she said.

We both stood up and went upstairs. Nate knocked the door and waiting for a 'come in' before opening the door. On entering we saw Evans was facing a computer screen as he was seriously concentrating on his game. We sat on his bed waiting for him to finish the level he was. After he was done he turned to us.

"What are you both doing here? Is everything alright?" he asked. He definitely wasn't expecting us to come over. Not like we called to inform him of our coming.

"Chill man everything is fine we just came to check up on you since you left school after break and refused to return." I said to him.

"Oh well as you can see I'm fine." he said.

"Evans can you tell us the truth, why do you hate Rosie so much?" I asked him.

He turned to look at me and from his facial expression I knew I had just crossed the line.

"Never call that Omega name in front of me am I understood." he commanded.

"Yes understood." I said to him.

"Good now excuse me I have a date to attend with Juliet." he said as he stood up.

I couldn't hide my disgust after just hearing that girl's name.

"Are you sure you want to be close the her? I mean she's not your mate so why allow her hang around you always?" I asked him.

"Well she's my friend and even though she's not my mate, she's someone special to me." he said.

"Just be careful around her." Nate said.

"Why? Juju is not a bad person so why are you both acting like she is a criminal or something?" he asked looking so confused.

Nate was about to say something but I stopped him. The truth of the matter is no matter how much we talk to Evans he would still go to Juliet so it's better to just let him be.

"Alright then we will take our leave. We are to join the night shifters to guard the area." I said replaceing a way where we could just leave.

"Alright see you all tomorrow." he said.

Nate and I left the house but not after telling the Luna farewell.

"We need to replace out a way to stop him from going out with that ugly witch." Nate said rolling his eyes.

"You just read exactly what is in my mind. We surely need to but you know Evans never listens. Maybe it's best if we just let him be so he can get a taste of the poison that witch has under her sleeves." I said to him. "Well you are right. Let's head to our post." he said.

We began to walk and all of a sudden he stopped moving. I turned to see what's wrong when I noticed he was mind linking someone. I didn't need to think hard to know who it was.

But from the look on his face it means something bad had happened. He let out a growl as he eyes came back to normal.

"What's wrong man?" I asked him.

"Rogues are in my house at the moment. Angel and Rosie felt them." he said.

My eyes went wide.

"What? But how did they get access to enter without being spotted." I asked surprised.

"That I don't know but I will definitely replace out after I'm done punishing whoever the person is for going close to my mate." he said with a dark look on his face. Yup his wolf is angry.

"Let's go fast. I will request for back up." I said to him.

We began to run to his house. We made it and Nate quickly barged in not caring how strong the door was. He almost knocked it down. I entered following him behind when the most delicious scent that smelt like vanilla entered my nose. My wolf Chase began to act in some kind of manner. He wanted to come out and was fighting for me to grant him control. I noticed Nate wanted to go towards Angel when my wolf took control and rushed to Rosie pushing her away from his sight. I know he pushed her forcefully. I just hope she isn't injured.

I looked up to see a girl who looked so slim and unkept. My wolf rushed and hugged the girl as he growl out a word that I have been wanting to hear every since. "MATE."
