EVANS POV

After Smith and Nate left my room, I quickly dressed up so I won't keep Juliet waiting. I went downstairs and met mother. "Son are you going somewhere?" she asked.

"Yes mum. I have to see Juliet." I answered.

"Juliet? By this time? Can't you leave it till tomorrow?" she asked.

"Mum don't worry about me. Don't forget I'm a grown up man so don't think too much. I will return soon." I said to her. "Well if you say so. Please don't do anything that you shouldn't do okay." she said.

"Mum don't you trust me?" I asked her.

"Is not like I don't trust you. I actually don't trust the person you are going to see." she said rolling her eyes.

"What has Juliet done to you that you don't trust her?" I asked her not understanding her at all.

"Can't you tell with your eyes that you shouldn't be close to Juliet. She is only friends with you only because she thinks she's going to be the Luna which will never happen because I would rather pass down my title to a poor Omega than to someone like her. Trust me."

Her words shocked me. Why will she say that? Or did she sense that my mate is an Omega?

"Mum why would you give you title to an Omega?" I asked her.

"I'm only just assuming son it's not like I will actually do that but if the need arises or if you are blessed with an Omega as a mate, then I would gladly pass down my title to her." my mother said.

I decided to leave. I couldn't listen to her anymore.

"Mum I have to go Juliet is waiting for me." I kissed her forehead before leaving the house. If I don't leave, she definitely go on and on.

I rushed to the restaurant that I booked to see Juliet. When I entered, I saw she had already ordered a bottle of wine and was still waiting for me. From the look on her face, I knew I was in for her complains. I decided to just walk to her. "Here sorry for keeping you waiting." I apologized as I sat down.

She looked at me and folded her arms.

"You are late Evans." she said not sounding so happy at all.

"I know and I have apologized haven't I?" I asked her hoping she will stop being so childish.

"Tell me what's was so important that made you keep me waiting?" she asked me.

"Well Smith and Nate dropped by earlier and my mum had a little talk with me. Do you have any problem with that?" I asked raising my brows up.

"No." she said rolling her eyes.

"Well I'm just glad you are here. I thought you stood me up." she said.

"You know I will never do that to you." I said to her.

"I know. Now enough of that, can we order now. I'm super hungry." she said as she finally smiled.

"Sure where is the waiter?" I turned and sighed one. I raised a hand to get his attention. He walked up to me and bowed.

"What can I help you with?" he asked as he raised his head to look at me.

"We would like to order now." I said.

"Alright give me a minute so I could go get the menu fast." He said before he left. He came back and Juliet and I ordered what we wanted to eat. We ate and talked having the time of our lives.

I noticed that she always avoided any talk that has to do with Smith and Nate. I decided to let her be for now didn't want to spoil the atmosphere. After eating, I decided to walk her home. On reaching her house, she turned to me.

"Evans I was meaning to ask you something." she said suddenly.

"Alright and what could that be?" I asked her looking confused.

"Well since you haven't found your mate yet and I haven't found mine yet, I was wondering why don't we date each other for the mean time before we replace them?" she asked.

I was taken aback by her question. I couldn't tell her that I have found my mate already well is not like she is actually a mate to me so it's fine. But the thoughts of dating her doesn't sit so well with me. Am I really to date anyone? I'm not saying dating Juliet is bad but I'm not sure if I'm ready for a relationship at the moment.

"Juju I truly replace you as an attractive and wonderful person. But I have to think about what you just say because I haven't seen myself in the mood to date any time soon as I am so focused on being a better alpha." I said to her. "Its fine if you are not ready right now. I totally understand. But I'm ready to wait till whenever you are ready." she said.

I looked at her and she was indeed serious. I let out a sigh.

"But won't you get tired of waiting?"

"I don't mind waiting for you forever." she replied.

"Alright then. It's getting late, go inside." I said to her.

"Goodnight Evans." she said smiling.

"Good night juju." I said as I kept standing till I saw her enter her house before I began to walk to mine.

When I entered my house,I was surprised to see Smith and Nate in my house again.

"What are you both doing here again?" I asked them.

"Hey man are you back from your date?" Nate said rolling his eyes. I can tell his question wasn't genuine.

But that the least of my worries. I just didn't get why Smith was so quiet and he looked so down. "What's wrong with him?" I asked Nate.

"Well he has found his mate." Nate said.

"Are you serious Man? Congratulations. But why do you look so down?" I asked him.

"Well she's a rogue and it seems like she has been through a lot of maltreatment." Nate answered again.

Wait what? Smith was mated to a rogue. What trick is the moon goddess trying to play because I don't get why she is giving us wrong mates. First I, an alpha was mated to an Omega now my beta is mated to a rogue. What kind of irony is this? "Sorry man. I can't believe you were paired with the wrong person." I said trying to be a nice friend but all I got from my best friend was a dangerous growl.

"Who is a wrong person?" he asked as his eyes kept switching colors as his wolf was trying to get control.

"Did I say something wrong?" I asked Nate not getting why his angry.

"Yes you say something wrong. You have no right to call my mate a wrong person. There is nothing wrong with her and I still accept her the way she is so if you want me to keep on giving you the respect you deserve, mind what you say about my mate." Smith answered looking at me with a dangerous look on his face.

I would have said it was his wolf that just spoke but I knew it was Smith who spoke because of his eyes, it didn't change into his wolf's eyes when he spoke.

"Wait so are you saying you are going to accept a weak rogue as your mate? I mean you're the beta and as the beta you need to be paired with someone who is strong don't you think?" I asked.

"Evans you shouldn't say such things. The moon goddess never makes mistake. Besides even if your mate is weak, it is for you to make her strong because that's your role as her mate and as her equal." Nate said.

I scoff.

'Equal my foot. How is an alpha and Omega equals for crying out loud. Or how is a beta and rogue equal.'

"Is this some kind of sick joke because trust me it's not funny? How can you say they are equals when Smith is a beta of a pack and his mate is without a pack also you said she's weak. That's not a good pairing to me." I said to them.

The next thing I knew was my head was banged on the wall as my neck was squeezed tightly stopping me from breathing properly.

"Alpha or not I don't care snapping your neck. If you say one more word about my mate in that manner, I will surely snap your neck. Mark my words. My mate is the best pairing for me and she's also my equal so you have no f*****g to talk down on her. Do you hear me?"

That wasn't Smith. From the gold eyes and deep voice I knew it was Chase his wolf.

I smiled weakly at him as I was trying to breath "I have heard you." I forced myself to say.

I couldn't do anything but listen to him since I didn't have my wolf with me as the idiot decided to leave me all by myself only because of a girl. I can't just fight a wolf off without my wolf it's just like saying am asking for a dead sentence.

"Smith release him right now." I heard my mother say with her calm voice.

How could she be so calm when they want to strangle her son? Sometimes I don't get her.

But surprisingly Chase let go of my neck and his eyes turned to normal.

"I'm sorry Luna." he apologized.

I was expecting him to turn and apologize to me also but he didn't.

"Its fine Smith. I totally understand. Don't mind Evans his just being so immature because he doesn't have a mate yet." my mother said.

What? Me immature?

Well news flash one people I have a mate.

I wanted to talk back but the look my mother gave me was enough to shut my mouth up.

"We will take our leave now Luna. Thank you for everything." Nate said.

"Anytime boys and Smith make sure you get some rest. I'm sure everything will be fine okay?" she said to him.

"Yes Luna thank you." he said before he and Nate left.

"And you, I didn't teach you to be rude. Try what you just did again and I will deal with you." my mother said before leaving me standing there. But I don't get.

What exactly did I do right now?
