Chapter 53

ROSIE POV

Luna Isabella finally found her keys and she drove us to the orphanage. It's been long I came here well because of school and work.

I helped Luna Isabella with the box of cupcakes she made for the kids. I walked behind her as we both entered the orphanage.

In no time, we were surrounded by children and also the children caretakers. The children were all smiling and happy to see the Luna. She sure was a regular here and you could tell that all the children loved her because she was a good person. "Hello kids. Hope you all are doing fine?" she asked with a warm smile on her face.

"Yes Luna." the children all shouted.

"Well I baked a little cupcakes for you all and I came with someone too." she said and turned to me. She didn't say a word after that.

I looked at her with a confused look then I understood that she wanted me to introduce myself to the kids.

"Hey kids. My name is Rosie White. It's nice to meet you all." I said to them smiling.

They all gave me a bright smile. I let out a sigh, that's a good sign that they like me. Right?

"Rosie can you go ahead with the kids while their caretakers and I talk please? You can share the cupcakes for them and take one for yourself too. There is an extra one there." Luna Isabella said to me. "Alright luna." I said.

She then turned to the children.

"Kids go with Rosie. She will share the cupcakes to you all. I need to talk to your caretakers so you have to go ahead without me. But don't worry I will finish soon and come and play with you all. Okay?" "Yes Luna." they all chorused.

I told them to follow me and I walked outside with them. I looked around and saw the garden looks like a nice spot to stay. I walked to the garden with the kids following me from behind.

I sat on the ground and they all joined me looking at me with their adorable eyes.

I love children so much and I adore babies so so much. I use to imagine myself as a mother and how I will try to do a wonderful work in caring for my baby before I found out that Evans was my mate. But now I have gotten rid of the thought because I knew it will never happen.

"Now as you come to get your cupcake, you are to tell me your names so I can remember them. Is that okay with you all?" I asked.

"Yes Rosie." they chorused making me to smile when I heard them call my name.

One after the other, I gave them a cupcake and they told me their names. I promised myself not to ever forget their names no matter what.

My favorite kid was Emma who was loud kid. She was always laughing and talking. I noticed that she was like the bright light among the kids. I watched her closely and noticed that if any kid isn't talking, she will walk up to the kid and try to start a conversation and because of her bright nature, she will make the kid to start talking also. She was an awesome kid.

I also couldn't help but have a soft spot for Harris. He was a cute boy who was the youngest. He told me he was three years old but he was really smart for his age. He has a bright smile. I noticed that he also likes me too and that gladden my heart. He has been sitting very close to me. Sometimes I will catch him looking at me with a smile on his face.

"Harris I noticed you have been looking at me, is there something on my face?" I asked him.

"Nope... you are pweety." he said giving me a big smile.

I laughed at his cuteness.

"Aww thank you Harris. And you are also very handsome too." I said to him pinching his cheeks as he laughed.

I didn't want the kids to be bored so I gathered them around and asked them which games they wanted to play.

They all shouted hide and seek first. I agreed and they made me to be the seeker.

I stood facing a tree with my eyes closed as I counted from one to ten as they all ran to hide.

After I was done counting, I slowly went round looking for them. Sometimes I will see them but pretend not to see them. Then I will talk loud to let them know I was there so they can run.

Sometimes I will pretend to be complaining out loud that they are brilliant hiders because I can't see them. Some of them will begin to giggle.

We played hide and seek for sometime. Then the next game they wanted to play was racing.

We all knelt down behind a long line I draw on the ground. I was the one to give the orders so immediately I said go, they all started running. I didn't run fast so I can be the last. When I got to the winning post, they laughed at me and called me a slow poke. I acted like I was sad and faked a sad pout on my face.

Harris my boy ran to my leg and hugged it. He looked at me with a smile on his face.

"Rowshie don't wurwy. You will win another time." he said to me.

I smiled at him and nodded my head. He sure was a sweet little fellow.

I decided no more running again because they were looking tired and I can't let them injure theirselves.

I walked with them following me behind back to the garden. I sat on the ground and they all sat beside me.

"Would you like to hear a story?" I asked them smiling.

"yes please." they shouted loud.

"I love stories so much." a little kid Max said.

"Alright then. I will tell you all a story." I said to them.

I began to crack my head for the story to tell them. I thought and decided to tell them the story my grandmother use to tell me.

"A long time ago, before you and me were born, the world was so empty and quiet. There was no single soul that was staying here. The moon goddess who was up fell in love with the god of wishes. Whatever was your wish, he will grants them to you. The moon goddess and the god of wishes will come down to earth and play around like we just did now. The moon goddess didn't like how empty earth was and decided to do something about it. She told the god of wishes to create a wolf being and let the wold watch over the earth so earth wouldn't be empty. The god of wishes decided to do it since he loved her. He granted her wish and created a wolf. The wolf began to run round the earth. It had enough to eat and a comfortable place to sleep at night but it wasn't happy. He felt empty inside him. He decided to share his feelings to the moon goddess who came to see how he was doing. After listening to him, she decided to help him. She went back to the god of wishes and asked him to create a partner for the wolf so he won't be lonely again. The god of wishes didn't argue or protest. He made another wolf for the wolf. This time it was a female wolf. The moment the wolf saw the female wolf, he felt whole again like the missing piece of him was back to him. He fell in love with her and decided to build a family with her. Their offspring began to grow and grow. This is the story of our ancestors. The end." I said to them smiling.

They all clapped for me making me smile.

"Rosie I have a question to ask." Emma said raising her hand up.

"Yes Emma what is your question?" I asked her.

"Was the female wolf his mate?" she asked.

I smiled at her.

"Yes she was. That was why he felt whole again when he saw her." I answered her question.

"Another question Rosie. Have you found your mate?" she asked me.

I was taken aback by her question. I looked at the other kids to see they were all looking at me waiting for my reply.

I let out a dark chuckle.

"I haven't found him yet." I answered her question.

"Then I will be Rowshie's mate." Harris said giving me big smile.

I laughed at him.

"But Harris your still young." I said to him.

"I still like you Rowshie and I want to be your mate pwease Rowshie." he gave me a cute puppy look.

How can I say no to such an adorable kiddo?

"Alright Harris. For now you are my mate but if you replace your mate or I replace mine we will be friends only. When you grow up, I'm sure you will meet someone with a good heart and she will beautiful too so you are to love only her. Okay?" I said to him. "Okay." he answered smiling.

"Oh here you are kids. I was looking everywhere for you all." we turned to see Luna Isabella looking at us with a smile on her face.

"Are you all having fun?" she asked.

"Yes" they all shouted.

"I can see that." she said to them.

"Lolna, I have a mate now." Harris said all of a sudden with a proud look on his face.

"Really Harris. Wow congratulations. And who is she." Luna Isabella asked laughing.

"Rowshie." he said pointing at me.

"But Rosie has a mate." she said to him.

Wait what does she mean by that? There is no way she will know that I'm mate with her son right? I mean we have both been careful not to expose the truth out. I can't even speak of it because of the command.

"No Luna she doesn't have a mate. She said it just now that she doesn't have one." Emma said.

"Oh I thought she did, my bad" she said smiling at me.

I stared at her looking confused. I honestly don't get her today. It's like she invited me to come with her for a reason like she set this up because I don't understand her suspicious behaviors today. And her smile has a meaning. Why do I feel like something big is going to happen soon.
