Chapter 34: Fight

Isabella POV

I woke up at 5:30am, well I didn’t wake up since I really didn’t sleep, but I got my a…ss out of bed. I was so nervous about the upcoming fight that I wasn’t able to sleep.

I washed my face and brushed my teeth before getting dressed in a pair of black spandex shorts and a pink sports bra. Maybe I can distract Alpha Drake a little by showing off some skin, I smirked to myself.

Once I slipped on my runners, I made my way to the training field. Training didn’t start till 6:30am, but I figure I could get a good warm up in before hand.

I had the training grounds all to myself for the first 30 minutes so I took advantage of the time to stretch and warm up.

At around 6:15am the warriors started to show up. I was getting nervous, I still can’t believe I got myself into this mess. I better not lose.

While I was stretching I heard someone clear their throat and I turned around. Alpha Drake stood a few feet away from me with a c..0cky smirk on his face. I just rolled my eyes at him.

“You ready to be a good girl for a whole week?” He teased.

“In your dreams Alpha, your going to have to take me down before that happens.” I replied.

“I plan on it.” He shot back at me.

“And I plan on wiping that c..0cky smirk off your face when I kick your a….ss.” I replied with my own smirk.

“Feisty I like.” He teased.

As we were trash talking each other I saw Jared, Clair and Erik approaching.

“So, you guys ready for a fight?” Erik said while rubbing his hands together excitedly. I just rolled my eyes at him.

“My money is on Isabella, sorry Alpha but she’s crazy.” Jared said with a chuckle. “Oh and no offence Isabella.” He added. I just laughed.

All the warriors had arrived and were ready to start training.

“Warriors, training is going to be slightly delayed today. Isabella over here has challenged me to a fight, so we will proceed with the fight before training begins.” Alpha Drake announced to the warriors and I could see some with shocked looks and others had amused looks on their faces.

“The rules are, no shifting and the fight isn’t over until one of the participants submits in defeat, is pinned for 10 consecutive seconds or passes out.” He continued his announcing.

“Jared, since I’m one of the participants you will be the referee.” He told Jared. Jared just nodded in acknowledgement.

“Isabella if your ready let’s get this fight started.” He said to me again with his c..0cky smirk. Gosh I I better win. I nodded to him and walk into the middle of the field as he followed me.

“Ok, fighters get ready, set, go!” Jared yelled, announcing the start of the fight.

We spent the first minute circling each other, looking for an opening or any weaknesses.

I saw him lower his eyes on my body and I took the opportunity to lunge at him first, I was fast and he didn’t have time to move, I knocked him flat on his back while I fell over top of him, before I could pin him, he flipped us around and I landed with my back on the ground and him on top of me, he tried to pin me, but I’m fast and wiggly, I manager to get out of grip and I quickly jumped back onto my feet, so did he.

We circled each other again and this time he lunge first, I side stepped his attack but threw my elbow hitting him hard in the abdomen. I heard a “Ow” but he recovered quickly and got me into a choke hold.

“You ready to submit yet?” He whispered into my ear as he tightened his hold on me. I didn’t answer, I stayed focus on the fight.

I threw my elbow as hard as I could into his abdomen and when i felt him buckle at the pain, I pushed my body back knocking both of us to ground. He loosened his grip just enough for me to get out of his hold. I tried to get up but he grabbed my ankle and pulled me back down, he climb on top of me trying to pin me again, but luckily I was fast and got out of his hold, we both stood back up and faced off again.

The crowd was going crazy, the fight was pretty even at this point and no one really had a clear lead over the other.

I decided to wait for Alpha Drake to make a move. When he attack I was expecting it, I managed to avoid his hit but as he went by I grabbed his arm and swung myself onto his back with the momentum, I latched my around around his neck and held on for dear life while my legs wrapped tightly around his wa!st.

He threw a couple elbow blows to my side and they hurt like hell, but I wasn’t letting go. This fight is mine.

I started applying more pressure to his wind pipes cutting off his air flow.

He threw himself onto his back, his whole body landed on mine, I felt the wind leave my chest and blackness start to take over my vision. The pain was unreal, I know he broke a few of my ribs with that hit, but I wasn’t letting go. If I have one thing working for me l, it’s my determination.

I tightened my hold on his throat even more, I could hear him gasping for air, but he wasn’t tapping or submitting to me.

The crowd went silent, waiting to see what would happen.

I had Alpha Drake in the choke hold for at least 20 seconds, he was rolling around with me on his back trying to knock me off, but I didn’t let go. After a while I felt his body go still beneath me.

A hand tap my arm and looked to see Jared.

“He’s passed out. Let go.” Jared told me and I immediately let go, looking at Alpha Drake with concern. It didn’t take long once he had access to air for him to start regaining consciousness and I let out a breath of relief.

“Well, we have a winner!” Jared announced to the crowd while lifting my arm in the air. The crowd erupted into cheers.

The warriors approached me and started congratulating me. I could see the respect in their eyes at the fact that I beat the Alpha. I felt proud of myself.

Once Alpha Drake was back to himself, he stood from the ground and extended his hand to me.

“Isabella, congratulations, you continue to impress me every single day.” He said, with so much sincerity while shaking my hand.

“Thank you Alpha, now I would like to start my patrol rotation tomorrow night.” I replied with a big smile. He looked concerned, but he didn’t have a choice, I won fair and square, he can’t go back on his word.

“Yes Isabella, I will make the arrangements for you to be added to the patrol rotation. Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to nurse my ego back to life.” He said with a real smile before walking off towards the pack house.

“Your one crazy she-wolf.” I turned around to see Erik smiling at me. I smiled back.

“Ya, I like playing with fire, even when I know chances are strong that I’ll get burned.” I said with a chuckle and he just shook his head.

“You know, no one has ever beaten Alpha Drake before.” Erik said looking impressed.

“Well he’s met his match.” I replied with a smile.

“He sure has Isabella, you know you guys are so much alike it’s scary.” He replied with a chuckle and I just laughed.

“Well congratulations Isabella, you continue to impress me.” He said while patting my shoulder. I just smiled back at him.

“Oh my goddess Isabella! That was insane!” I heard Clair squeal and turned just as she jump on me wrapping her arms around my body. I laughed.

“Easy on the ribs Clair, I think I cracked a couple.”

I said to her while rubbing my sore ribs.

“Whoops, sorry.” She said with an apologetic look.

“I’m going to have to watch my back, who knows when he’s gonna come looking for his revenge.” I said to her jokingly.

“Well either way, I seriously don’t know how you beat him. He’s fierce.” She said while shaking her head. Jared walked up to us and wrapped his arms around Clair’s wa!st and k!ssed her cheek before looking at me.

“Isabella, that was seriously impressive. I would love for you to help out with training, you got some mad skills.” Jared said to me with a smile.

“Thanks, I would love to help with training, that’s what this fight was all about, I wanted the Alpha to give me jobs that I would be useful at.” I told Jared.

“Well you certainly proved yourself.” He said while shaking his head in disbelief.

“Well guys, I think I need a long cold shower and some pain killers after that fight. I’ll see you guys later.” I said with a chuckled as I started to walk back towards the pack house.

As I started to walk I saw Jill standing there staring at me with her arms crossed over her chest, not looking happy to see me.

“Well that was impressive.” She said as she started to walk beside me.

“Thanks. It was a tough fight.” I replied.

“Why did you come back? I thought you wanted away from here?” she asked bluntly.

“Well, I did, but things have changed, now that I accomplished what I need to do, this is the best place for me.” I told her truthfully.

“Remember the Alpha was mine before you got here and I don’t plan on letting him go.” She said with a warning. I looked at her face and saw her frustration.

“Listen, I’m not here to cause problems, the Alpha is a big boy and if he wants to be with you, I won’t get in the way.” I told her truthfully, although I already know that if he was with her, it would destroy me. I wouldn’t get in the way though, that’s not who I am, he doesn’t belong to me.

“Good, I would like us to get along, I’m hoping we can come to an understanding.” She said while watching me as she spoke.

“Absolutely.” I said, she smiled but it didn’t feel real. I know we aren’t going to get along, I can already feel it. I sighed in frustration.

I’m exhausted I need a shower and some rest, I thought, as I made my way towards my room.
