Chapter 88: Devastating news

Isabella POV

I was watching Alpha Theo closely, waiting to hear what would come out of his mouth. He was silent for a few moments, him and Alpha Drake were having a stare down, before he finally spoke.

“Alpha Drake, I think your Luna should step out of the room for this.” Alpha Theo said and I was about to put him in his place, when Alpha Drake spoke first.

“My Luna isn’t going anywhere.” He growled out, there was so much anger in his tone.

“Very well, have it your way.” Alpha Theo said, while shrugging his shoulders casually. The room was eerily silent, everyone was waiting to hear what Alpha Theo would say next.

“A she-wolf stubbled onto my territory, a few weeks ago. She was in rough shape, pregnant and homeless and she told me an interesting story.” Alpha Theo said, with a taunting tone. There were several gasps in the room and people started to whisper amongst themselves.

I didn’t like where this was going, I had no clue what he was talking about, but I knew it wasn’t going to be good. Alpha Drake had a murderous look on his face and I could tell, he was about to lose it. I put my hand on his thigh under the tabled, trying to calm him down, it worked, but only slightly.

“Do you know a she-wolf by the name of, Jill?” Alpha Theo asked, in that same taunting tone. He was enjoying himself, while toying with Alpha Drake and he wasn’t trying to hide it.

I was shocked at his words. Jill stumbled onto his territory, pregnant? What kind of mess, did that girl get herself into now?

“Yes I know her, she drugged my Beta’s mate and tried to kill my Luna. She’s wanted for her crimes.” Alpha Drake spat out angrily, his body was radiating with rage.

“Well Alpha, she claims that you took advantage of her and got her pregnant. Then, when your lovely Luna over here, showered up, you threw her out to the Rogues.” Alpha Theo said, while nodding his head towards me. He had a satisfied look on his face.

My hand immediately fell from Alpha Drake’s thigh and I was completely shocked, after hearing his words. Alpha Drake got Jill pregnant? Is it true? It can’t be true.

“Bullshit! She’s lying.” Alpha Drake shouted. It made me flinch, there was so much anger in his words.

“Maybe she is, she’s two month along in her pregnancy. If you never had s*x with her, then she’s obviously lying.” Alpha Theo replied, but by the look on his face, he knew that he had struck a nerve with Alpha Drake.

I glanced over to Alpha Drake, his face had drained of colour and he looked panicked. His eyebrows were furrowed and he was processing Alpha Theo’s words. My emotions were getting the better of me, I was angry and confused, but mainly, I was sad. If this is true, My heart would be completely broken.

“I’ll take your silence, as an admission that you have had some sort of relationship, with miss Jill in the past.” Alpha Theo said and I was shocked, when Alpha Drake didn’t respond right away. The room was completely silent, as everyone waiting for Alpha Drake to reply.

“Let’s go talk in my office, in private.” Alpha Drake finally replied, but I heard enough at this point.

My body started to tremble, I was feeling suffocated. Alpha Drake wasn’t deny anything, he just sat next to me, looking both shocked and deep In thought. I couldn’t listen to anymore. I needed to get some fresh air. I stood up from my chair and stormed out of the room, I didn’t look back and certainly didn’t care what anyone thought.

I ran down the hall and made my way outside into the garden. Once I was alone, I couldn’t hold back my emotions any longer, I started to sob uncontrollably. This can’t be happening, things were going so good between Alpha Drake and I, how is this going to affect us?

I mean, I knew about his previous relationship with Jill and it didn’t bother me, that he had s*x before. I don’t like thinking about it, but he was 25 and still mateless before I showed up. I don’t think it would be fair, for be to hold that against him. But getting someone pregnant and having a child with someone else, that’s a whole other thing and I am mad.

What breaks my heart the most, is to think that his first baby, the heir to this pack, could be with another woman. Not just any woman, but one who tried to kill me.

If she’s telling the truth, I don’t know what this means, for Alpha Drake and I.

I was a complete sobbing mess, when Trish and Clair ran out into the garden.

“Oh my goddess, we found you. Alpha Drake mind-linked us to replace you, he said that you needed us urgently.” Clair said, in a worried tone.

She didn’t waste anytime and engulfed me in a tight hug. It only caused me sob harder.

“Oh Isabella, what happened?” Trish asked, in a soft voice, while rubbing my back gently.

“Jill’s pregnant.” I replied, in between sobs.

“Wow, that’s crazy, but why are you crying?” Clair asked with a confused frown, while pulling away from the hug to look at me.

“She claims, Drake is the father.” I replied, while wiping the tears from my eyes. Both, Trish and Clair’s jaw, dropped at the same time and they looked completely shocked.

“How could that be?” Trish asked, with concern in her voice.

“He was with her, before he met me. She claims to be two month along, which would mean that she was still with Alpha Drake, when she got pregnant.” I replied. I was no longer crying, anger had taken over, as I processed my own words. How could he be so careless? Did he not use protection, with her?

“I’m so sorry Isabella, I know this has to be devastating, but remember who the source of the information is, it’s Jill. She would stop at nothing to have Alpha Drake as hers. She could be lying about the pregnancy, or better yet, maybe she got knocked up by someone else and is lying about Alpha Drake being the father.” Clair said and she’s right, it could be, but just the thought of it possibly being true, has shattered my heart.

The girls, had sat with me in the garden for hours. I was no longer crying, I had gone through several stages of emotions, first I was sad and heart broken, then I was angry, after that I had a pity party and finally I was concerned. Where does this leave Alpha Drake and I? Can we still have a future together?

We were sitting in silence, no one knew what to say anymore, when Alpha Drake walked out. I looked up at him and he was a mess. He look desperate , his hair was dishevelled and his shirt was ripped.

“Can I talk to you, Isabella?” He asked, I could hear the desperation in his voice and as angry as I was, it still broke my heart to see him like this.

“Ok.” I replied and Trish and Clair both stood up.

“We will be inside, if you need us.” Clair said, while Trish glared at Alpha Drake. They both left us alone and went inside.

I sat staring at my hands, while Alpha Drake took a seat beside me.

“I’m sorry Isabella.” Alpha Drake said, in a low sad voice.

“So it’s true? She’s likely carrying your baby? Why the hell, did you not use protection?“ I spat out the questions angrily. I couldn’t hold them back.

“I did use protection, every time we had s*x, I swear. If she’s telling the truth, about how far along she is, then there is a good chance the baby is mine.” Alpha Drake said, in a low voice, sounding both sad and concerned.

I cringed at his words, I don’t like hearing, that he had s*x with other women. I don’t even know how I feel anymore, so many strong emotions were at the very front, I felt a hurricane building inside of me.

“You realize, if this baby is yours, he will be your first born and the heir to this pack?” I said and like he expected me to say that, he replied right away.

“No Isabella, our babies will be the rightful heirs to our pack, that’s how it’s suppose to be and I plan on keeping it that way.” He said, with determination. I couldn’t look at him, my eyes were focused on my hands.

“If this baby does turned out to be mine, I can’t ignore it. I will be part of his or her life, that’s something I need to take responsibility for. Jill on the other hand, will never be allowed to step foot on this territory and she will still be punished, for her actions against you and Clair. I promise you that, Isabella.” Alpha Drake said, sounding both worried and sad.

“What does this mean for us?” I asked, barely above a whisper.

“This changes nothing for us, you’re my mate and I love you. I want to start a family with you and grow old with you by my side. Please don’t give up on me Isabella.” He said and by the end of his words, he was practically begging me.

I glanced up into his eyes and I could see tears pooling within them, he looked like he was about to fall apart. I wanted to comfort him, but he put himself in this mess and I’m still not ok with it.

“What now?” I asked, while looking back down at my hands.

“I’m going to demand a DNA test, if she’s telling the truth, she shouldn’t have a problem complying with my request. Depending on the results, we go from there.” He replied, sounding hopeful. He probably hopes, that the DNA test would prove that he’s not the father.

“I need so time to myself, so I can process all of this. I can’t be around you, the bond messes with my head. I’m going to go, to my brothers pack for a few days. I hope you sort out your mess, while I’m there.” I said in a stern voice, leaving no room for argument.

“I promise you, I will. I sent all the other Alpha’s home, my only focus, will be to sort through this mess. Please don’t leave me.” He begged, while taking my hand in his.

“I’m sorry, I need space.” I replied and stood up from the bench, before walking away from him.

It broke my heart to do it, but I really did need space, if I stayed here, I know I would see and smell him everywhere and it would mess with my head. I need to be somewhere, that I can clear my mind and decide what’s best for me.

Plus, I think Alpha Drake needs to step up and clean his own mess.

I have no idea, where this leaves us, but I’m not going to sit around and pretend I’m ok with any of this, because I’m not.

Bri has been whimpering in my head, since we found out. I know how hard this is on her, the mate bond affects your wolf half, much stronger than the human half.

‘We’ll get through this.’ I said to Bri, trying to comfort her, but she didn’t reply.
