Chapter 90: We will fight by your side

Isabella POV

It was so hard to drive away from Alpha Drake, but I had to. I need him to sort through this mess, without me around.

The drive to my brothers pack house, went by fast, since my mind was lost in my own thought.

I pulled up to the gates and as soon as the warriors saw that it was me, they opened the gates. My brother isn’t expecting me, but the warriors know me well, I will always be welcome onto this territory, even if I don’t have an invitation.

I pulled up at the front of the pack house and Declan was walking outside. The warriors must of mind-linked him, that I was coming. He looked both concerned and happy to see me.

I got out of my vehicle and ran up the stairs, before jumping into his arms. It felt good to be with family right now. He hugged me back for a moment, without saying anything. When we finally broke the hug, he spoke.

“Isabella, what are you doing here?” He asked, with concern.

“It’s a long story, how about we go inside. I’d like to freshen up, then I’ll tell you everything.” I replied, with a small smile and he nodded.

“Ok, how about we you go to your old room and we can have dinner together?” Declan suggested.

“That would be great.” I replied. Declan lead the way inside and I followed him.

“I’ll be in my office if you need anything.” Declan said and I thanked him, before heading to my old room.

Once in my room, I threw myself onto the bed and let out a heavy sigh, i was feeling both exhausted and defeated.

I feel helpless at the moment, I mean, I have no control over what happens next. Jill is either pregnant with Alpha Drake’s baby, or she’s lying and it’s not his.

Either way, I need to figure out were I stand with both scenarios. It’s not so difficult of a decision, if Jill is lying and I truly hope she is, things wouldn’t have to change between Alpha Drake and I. But, what if it is his baby, what then? I’m not so sure, I could handle him being so closely tied to Jill, she is the woman who tried to kill me after all.

It was getting close to dinner time, so I had a quick shower, before putting on a pair of leggings and an over sized off the shoulder T-shirt.

I walked out of my room and made my way down to the dinner hall.

I immediately saw, Declan, Lily, Jet and Jordan seated at a table together.

I grabbed a plate of food and made my way over to their table, to joined them.

“Hey guys.” I greeted everyone, with a small smile. They all greeted me back and I could see curiosity on their faces. I know, it’s a little weird for me to show up unexpected and without my mate. They must be curious about what happened.

“What’s going on Isabella? Where’s Alpha Drake?” Declan asked, getting straight to the point, with a concerned frown on his face. I let out a sigh, not really wanted to talk about it, but I knew he would stop until I told him.

“You remember that she-wolf I told you about, Jill? Well, supposedly she’s pregnant and claims Drake is the father.” I said, with my eyes focus on my plate, while I pushed food around with my fork. I didn’t want to see the shocked expressions on everyone’s face. I’ve already seen that same expression, way to many times.

“Wow Isabella, that’s crazy. How did you guys replace out?” Declan asked. I told him the whole story about the meeting and Alpha Theo. I could tell Declan was fuming with anger, by the time I was done telling him everything.

“Alpha Theo is a complete sleaze, I wouldn’t believe a word he says. I’ll get in contact, with some people I know from his pack, see if I can’t replace anything out. Even his own people dislike him, If he’s lying, we will replace out.” Declan said, in an attempt to reassure me. He sounded confident.

“Either way, I just needed a little time to myself, I hope you don’t mind that I came here.” I asked, in a soft voice.

“Of course not, you’re always welcome here. Stay as long as you need, Bella.” Declan replied, with a small smile.

Dinner was pretty quiet for the most part, a little small talk here and there, but that was it. After dinner, I decide to head back to my room. I wasn’t really in the mood, to talk with anyone.

Alpha Drake POV

I contacted Alpha Theo by phone and he was being a complete a*****e. He said, that his doctors would conduct a DNA test and he would send me the results. Whenever I tried to ask questions, he would cut me off, or replace excuses so that he didn’t have to answer. I was really getting pissed off.

I threatened to attend his territory, with all of my warriors if he didn’t cooperate with my requests. I knew I hit a nerve, his pack isn’t strong enough to fight against mine.

I insisted that I attend his territory, with my own doctor and that I be present for the test. He tried to come up with excuses, for why I didn’t have to attend but in the end, he gave in.

Tomorrow, I will travel to his territory with my pack doctor, as well as several warriors to conduct the test. Then we will know the truth, good or bad, at least we can move forward from there.

I was making arrangements in my office, when the phone rang and I picked it up.

“Alpha Drake speaking.” I greeted.

“Alpha Drake, it’s Alpha Thomas, how are you?” I heard Alpha Thomas’s voice on the other side of the line. I couldn’t help but get a little excited, maybe he has some information for me.

“Good, did you speak with you contact?” I asked anxiously, getting straight to the point.

“I did. She had some interesting things to say. I guess this Jill character, is living on the Alpha floor with Alpha Theo. They have become close, if you know what I mean. She also said, that she doesn’t believe Jill is two months pregnant, she thinks she’s only around a month or so, based on how little she’s showing. Jill and Alpha Theo, have had a lot of hushed serious conversations lately. She hasn’t been able to over hear them, but she thinks that they are up to no good.” Alpha Thomas reported. I let out a sigh of relief, if she’s not two months pregnant like she claims, then it’s not my child. Fingers crossed that Alpha Thomas’s contact is accurate.

“Thank you Alpha, the information you’ve provide is really helps. I’m going there tomorrow, with my own doctor to have a proper DNA test conducted.” I replied. I am completely grateful, that Alpha Thomas is willing to help me. His contact has put my mind slightly at ease.

“Be careful Alpha Drakes. We both know how sneaky Alpha Theo can be, make sure you have enough warriors with you, incase he does something stupid. If you need any of my men, just ask.” Alpha Thomas added, with a serious tone.

“Thank you, Alpha. I plan on bringing an army with me. I’m getting answers tomorrow, one way or another. I’m done playing Alpha Theo’s games.” I replied, with determination.

“Just remember my offer. If Alpha Theo doesn’t cooperate, my pack will stand by you and fight. I’m sure without a doubt, that Alpha Declan would as well. With all of us together, Alpha Theo wouldn’t dare to play games, keep us in mind.” Alpha Thomas said, I could hear the sincerity in his voice.

He must really respect Isabella, to make such an offer. I mean, I don’t blame him, she’s something else. Her contacts are really coming in handy for me. I had never really thought that our relationship would bring new allies, making us an even stronger pack as a whole.

“Thanks Alpha, I’ll be in touch. Let’s see how tomorrow goes, if they try anything funny, I’ll likely take you up on the offer.” I replied sincerely.

“Sounds good. We will talk soon.” Alpha Thomas said and I heard the line click, when he hung up.

‘Jared, can you meet me in my office.’ I mind-linked.

‘On my way Alpha.’ He replied and cut the link.

I also mind-linked Erik, to join us.

A few minutes later, there was a knock at the door.

“Come in” I said.

The door opened, Jared and Erik walked in, before taking a seat in front of me.

“Erik, you and I are heading to the High Mountain pack tomorrow. We will be bringing, one of our pack doctors and a lot of warriors. I plan on having a DNA test done, while I’m there in person. I need as many warriors as we can afford to bring, incase Alpha Theo tries anything stupid.” I instructed Erik.

“Yes Alpha.” Erik replied.

“Jared, you will stay back and take care of pack business.” I ordered.

“Of course, Alpha.” He replied.

I also updated them, on the information I received form Alpha Thomas. They both seemed relieve at the news. Now, we just need to confirm that Jill is lying, with the DNA test.

“Alpha Thomas, has offered to fight along side us, if things go sideways. I’m going to call Alpha Declan and see if we have his support as well. If tomorrow doesn’t go as planned, I will not hesitate to end Alpha Theo and conduct the DNA test forcefully.” I said, with determination.

“Understood Alpha. I’ll start getting the troops ready for tomorrow.” Erik replied and stood from his chair.

“Thanks Erik.” I said, as he left the room.

“Anything I can help with?” Jared asked.

“No Jared, you focus on keeping our pack in order. Erik and I will take care of the High Mountain Pack.” I replied.

“Ok, let me know if you need anything else from me, if that’s all I’ll leave you to it.” Jared replied and also stood up.

“That’s all, thank you.” I replied and watched as Jared left the room.

Tomorrow, I will have my answers and hopefully put all of this behind us. Please goddess, make this baby not mine. I can’t lose Isabella, I silently prayed.
