Episode 38

I sit up from where I tripped over into a sitting position. I’m alone, just the sounds of nature fill my ears.

The tears I was crying have now stopped.

I am still holding the letter in my hand.

I look up through the trees; it is so quiet and airy here.

I can’t make out how far I ran but it looks like no one comes here but I know the guards patrol this part in the evening.

“Asher,” I say through the mind link but he’s not there. He has blocked me.

Not only did I hurt myself, but I hurt my wolf too. I wanted to apologize to Asher for being a fool.

After a few moments I get up but I hear some rustling in the bushes, I sniff the air.

There is a foul stench in the air, rotten eggs and death rogues, not one but at least three. But they’re not alone; there is a human with them a female.

As the stench comes closer, I slip a growl. Asher is back “The woman is the one who tortured mate,” he says in hiss and stands up on all fours “We need to kill them.”

I couldn’t agree more but all of a sudden, there is a loud growl and out steps three small red and brown wolves. The woman is in the middle, looking straight at me.

She looks startled but as soon as she realizes it is me, she’s not afraid. She smirks “Well young alpha we meet again, I should tell my daughter I saw you, she misses you so much but I think she won’t mind if I kill you” she says. I place the letter that was in my hand and shove it into my back pocket quickly.

“Alpha we are close, do you need help,” asks a voice through mind link, I look back at the four people in front of me “Yea, come quickly but wait until the two wolves pounce,” I say. I make sure it looks like I have the undivided attention.

But suddenly one of the wolves pounces towards me but I caught him seconds by the throat, I glared at him and growl really loud. He whines, but I stare at Aubrey, the woman in front of me. Asher is forward with me.

We snap the wolf’s neck and his lifeless body falls to the ground.

The other two rogue’s growl loud, Aubrey looks at the dead body and then back at me “You think I’m scared of you, young alpha. I have a monster as a mate. Kill him” she says to the other two rogues.

But before the rogues could do anything, two guards came out of the bushes and attacked them. I knew they were there but I made sure they held back. They informed me that only the four of them were here.

While the guards killed the two remaining rogues, Aubrey was stunned but turned and ran into the forest but I used my speed and caught her by the back of her neck.

She wiped out a knife from her pocket and started to move her hands all over the place. I had to keep my eyes on her but I managed to dodge the blade, I grabbed hold of her arm and grabbed the knife. I growled aloud.

Aubrey looked stunned at what I did all my training over the last month or so since Brooke left had paid off.

“I won’t tell you anything,” she says in a hiss.

I wrap my hand around her throat “You don’t have to” I say with a snarl, I squeeze her neck.

She gasps for breath; all I want is her death.

After a few seconds, she starts laughing.

“Pathetic young alpha, you never knew what she was. You honestly think we haven’t got anyone in your pack telling us what we want to know” she says as she struggles in my grip. I tighten a little harder but she laughs and sputters a bit “You have a traitor in your pack and someone close to it all.”

“Tell me who it is,” I say through gritted teeth.

“Where is the fun in that? Here is the thing, you knew about your mate for over a year young alpha why now do you want her, you had a human you loved why not take her and let someone else have that stupid weak one” she says, I lost it.

One of my claws came out and sticks straight into her neck, killing her instantly.

B***d flowed over my hand.

I stare at her lifeless body.

Aubrey was dead but we still had two more to kill.

I pick up her body and carry it back to the packhouse.

Everyone gasped as I walked back to the packhouse, the pack members were running away. B***d was coming from Aubrey but I didn’t care.

As I got closer to the packhouse, my father came running out, followed by everyone in the office. They all look at Aubrey’s body with shocked faces.

“I was attacked by three rogues and this b***h was with them” I say, dropping her body to the ground without a care in the world.

“Someone take this body and get rid of it” I say with a snarl, a guard comes running behind me. He bows and takes the body away, I realized he was one of the guards that helped me earlier.

“We need to talk now,” I said to everyone who was staring at me from the top of the steps.

Everyone has different emotions running across their faces but someone has anger, my sister. She hates me for what I did but I need to explain to everyone.

I notice Shane and Amy, standing behind everyone.

I walked past everyone and headed straight to my father’s office, where they all came from.

Everyone followed me.

This is going to be hard but I need to explain my actions and everything.

Most of them already hate me; some things can be hard to hear as it revolves around someone close to us who had been banished from this pack about two weeks before the attack on Brooke and her mother.
