“God damnit Mylan, why the hell don’t you knock like normal people. You scared the s**t out of me.”Lateri yelled. “What fun would that be? I have to get a good laugh where I can I’m old there isn’t much I enjoy these days so scaring the hell out of you puts a smile on my face.” Mylan said and Lateri rolled her eyes and started to make some lunch for the both of them. Mylan sat down at the table and chair in the kitchen. “So, is everything planned?” Lateri asked, while she sliced veggies. “Yes, I have prepared them the best that I could. But you know well as I do that even with the best laid plan something always goes wrong. But I want to know what the moon goddess tell you about what’s coming? Will she be calling her battle warriors?” Mylan asked staring at Lateri waiting for her to answer. “You know she doesn’t tell us everything, she just said that this was bigger than we think which is why she didn’t allow me to shift to save my grand pups.” Lateri said as she started to chop at the veggies in anger. She felt like a failure, she had failed her son by not being able to protect his pups from an evil witch who was so in love with her mate that she would do anything to have him. Now her mate and her grand pups are at the mercy of that b***h.

“Now. Now Lateri don’t allow anger to cloud your judgement. We have to replace out what the witch is up to. None of the gods or goddesses knows who has broken the sacred rules. The dragon god thinks it’s the Moon goddesses twin brother who is behind all of this. He thinks he has something big planned that will be the bring about the extinction of all shifters if he is not stopped. That would me your Moon goddess will have to help destroy her twin brother if it turns out to be him who is controlling the witch. What I didn’t tell the others is if the Dark one is behind this then those pups are in more danger then any of us knows. The dragon said they are more powerful than any shifter on the planet they all combined their essence into those girls and if someone somehow takes their powers they will also take on the essence of every single god and goddess and will be unstoppable.” Mylan said and that made Lateri stop and turn her head towards her old friend who also had a worried expression on her face which has never happen since she has been knowing her. She actually looked afraid. “Mylan are your sure that is what your god told you? Why would they do that to innocent helpless babies, my grand pups? How could they do this to us?” Lateri asked, as she came to sit next to her friend and cried. “friend we will never know why the Gods and Goddess do half the things they do. But you best believe that no matter what we will do everything in our powers to make sure those babies are safe. Your goddess will call upon her battle warriors when we are needed, we just have to have faith. But until she does we will do what we do best which is kill bitches.” Mylan said, grabbing and squeezing Lateri’s hand. Although they always argue, they were very close. Lateri loved the human women because they reminded her of her and her battle warriors. They were together for years, ending the wars all over the world. During that time, they became close like sisters.

“Let’s eat and then go get your man from that b***h damn evil witch.” Mylan said, and Lateri laughed out loud for the first time since she woke up from death. “How you still don’t know how to use curse words, after all these damn years?” “What? Was that wrong I thought I had it right that time.” Mylan smiled and shrugged. She never bothered to learn because she believe it was a waste of time.

Makahi’ s POV:

I was finally able to leave the pack house. Everything was planned for when we leave later this evening. As the alpha I can’t show any weakness I always have to remain strong and lead my pack no matter what the situation was, including my daughters and my father being kidnapped and going through goddess knows what. I let myself into the girls’ house and headed up the stairs to Ji’lahni’s bedroom. I paused at the door. I could hear Ji’lahni weeping, I know she wants to be strong for her cousins and everyone, so she doesn’t allow herself to feel the pain that we both share at the thought of our girls being in the hands of an evil witch. The guilt I feel for not being able to protect them was like a knife to the heart. I refuse to lose my pups or my father to that evil witch no matter what I have to do I will get them back. No matter the cost I will get them back for Ji’lahni. Just then I felt pain in my neck. It almost brought me to my knees. I have been having these pains in my neck for hours now. Maka told me that it wasn’t our pain so that means it is pain from the mates bond.

I took a deep breath, closing my eyes trying to control the pain before I go in the room. I don’t want Ji’lahni to worry about me on top of everything. I remember what she said when I that we would also be rescuing Shadow’s mate, but I needed to tell her that I would also be trying to rescue Summer in order to break the bond and nothing more. I know I have no feelings for her other then what the bond created when I marked her. I still don’t know how that was even possible, but I thank the moon goddess for giving me a chance to get it right this time. Because Ji’lahni was my life I couldn’t survive without her. I know that now, even though it took me a while I finally understand that the moon goddess chose Ji’lahni for me and I will do everything I can to make sure she becomes my Luna and my mate. I entered the room and Ji’lahni immediately wiped her eyes trying to hide that she was just crying. I crawled in bed beside her and pulled her into my arms. I felt the usual uncomfortable feeling that always happens when I touch her because of the mate bond with Summer. I always try to touch her without Maka for as long as I could, but it didn’t last long and always ends in disappointment.

“Why do you always do that, just let Maka join us. We both know you can’t touch me without him. You always trying only serves as a reminder that you belong to Summer and not me.” She said sadly, hearing her say that, nearly ripped me apart. “No, I will never belong to anyone but you. I love you Ji’lahni you have to believe me.” I said, as I allowed Maka to join us, and the uncomfortable feeling disappeared immediately, and I pulled her closer in my arms and buried my head in her neck and inhaled her sweet watermelon and cotton candy scent. “So, is everything set and ready to go?” She asked. “Yes, everything is set and ready to leave this evening.” I answered.

“Makahi, I’m so scared I won’t survive if they aren’t ok. They have to be ok.” She said as she begin to cry again. I pulled her even tighter into my arm and released some of my aura it was instinct for Maka to want to comfort her and relieve some of her pain. She took a sighed deeply. “Listen to me baby the girls are fine. I don’t know how I know it; but I do. My father is protecting them, he will not let anything happen to them. He will keep them safe until we get there. I would feel if something happens to them. We have been connected since you carried them in your womb. I know they’re safe with my father.” I said praying that what I felt earlier was indeed my father trying to reach me. That would mean he found a way to get away from the witch. “So, are you going to tell me why you have been in pain for most of the day? Is it summer?” She said turning in my arms to face me, looking at me intently. I sighed I won’t lie to her anymore.

“I didn’t want to worry you. With everything else we got going on. I think Summer is being tortured in some way.” “So, she is still alive, I swear that broad has more than nine lives. The b***h is like a scary movie that has fifty-six parts, because when people think they finally kill the monster, he somehow sticks his hand up out the ground or all of a sudden open his eyes at the end letting you know they’re still not dead.” She said, angrily. I looked at her confused, I swear her, and her cousins are always making weird references.

“So, I guess you want to tell me that along with Shadows mate we also have to rescue your mate as well?” She asked already knowing the answer. So, I simply nodded my head yes “This some Bulls**t!” she said angrily and I have to agree. This is some Bull s**t!
