The Rebel -
Chapter 7
I stared into his dark eyes in shock as he sat on my sofa.
He had one leg propped up on the other and a smirk on his face.
Just seeing him sitting there looking at me sent shivers down my spine.
“What the hell are you doing here? How did you get in?”
I asked him, scanning the door, which was still locked.
“I don’t think you’re used to listening to orders, my companion. Wasn’t I clear when I asked you to keep your door open?”
The coldness and arrogance of his voice made me even angrier with him.
First he had the audacity to sneak into my room and then he was interrogating me as if he were my superior.
“You know me well, Alpha. I’m not used to taking orders, especially from men like you.”
He glared at me as I removed the comforter and slipped on my slippers.
Standing in front of him, I pointed to the exit.
“Get out of my house.”
He didn’t move; instead, his eyes changed color and that’s when I saw him stare at my outfit.
My top and shorts were too short, and this a*****e was looking at me shamelessly.
“Get the hell out of here, you bastard!”
I shouted at him while noting that he sat back down on the seat to finally look me in the eye.
“Do you usually wear such sexy clothes to bed or did you get ready for me tonight?”
“What?”, I asked shocked as he stood up to look down at me.
Was this man serious? What was he thinking of himself?
Indeed, before I could yell at him again, his arm wrapped around my waist and he pulled me toward him.
My forehead hit his chest as a gasp left my lips.
“What are you…”
“Shh,” he whispered as he pressed his finger to my l*p, awakening the chills in my back again.
As a result, my mind went numb for a minute as I tried to figure out what was going on.
My companion! Touch my mate!
My horny wolf howled in my mind as I lay motionless, pressed against him.
My hands hung down my body as I stared into his brown eyes.
His fingers entwined my waist, slowly lifting my body.
Meanwhile, his other hand brushed my arm, creating a trail of tingling that lingered.
“How do you feel, Vera? Is my touch stimulating anything here?” he asked, moving his hand lower, and as soon as I realized what his final destination was, I pushed him away, tripping over my own feet and falling back onto the bed.
I cried out in amazement as I watched his smiling face with animosity.
“What happened, my companion? Are you scared?”
“Scared? Never, a*****e! I’ll never be afraid of you!”
He shook his head in disbelief.
Then he placed both his legs on either side of my body to strangle me on the bed.
“Don’t be afraid, my little lioness. You should never be afraid of me. I wanted to know if you were afraid of yourself,” he said, leering at my lips as I moved my head to the side, refusing to look him in the face.
“Afraid of losing control. Afraid of giving in to those sensations in your body. Afraid that your body doesn’t belong to you anymore.”
He whispered in my ear as I clenched my fist.
If my stupid wolf hadn’t stopped me, I’d have killed him already.
“Have you finished? Let go of me now.”
He smiled and then I felt his lips brush my earlobe as he whispered:
“I’ll never be done with you, Vera. Ever.”
His words made my insides contract and I clenched my hands again to stifle the feeling.
He bit my earlobe and I looked at him in disbelief.
But, that was my biggest mistake.
Our faces were too close. As a result, his lips were inches from mine.
His nose was touching mine as my chest rose and fell with my panting breath.
No, Vera! Don’t let him! He’s no different from other men!
He wants to control you like they do.
To dominate and subdue you.
I was still lost in the depths of his eyes when suddenly his expression changed.
He looked at the beads of sweat on my forehead, his eyes narrowed as if he were angry.
I felt his cold fingers push aside the little hairs stuck to my forehead and, for a second, I forgot everything.
Was it a masquerade? Did he really care about me?
His next words stunned me to the point where my eyes widened.
“What were you dreaming about, my lioness? How long have you been having these nightmares?”
His eyes expressed concern and care, but could I trust him?
How did he know?
How long had he been standing there, watching me.
“It’s none of your business.”
His eyes narrowed as he looked at me.
I was a withdrawn person, and talking to him about my suffering was out of the question.
And then, when I thought he was going to force me to answer, he put his forehead against mine and blew on my lips.
Eyes closed, he remained silent.
Enjoying the moment.
“Take your time, Velma. But don’t forget, I always get the answers.”
He couldn’t know! No! They were the worst memories of my life, my weakest points.
I’d never tell him the struggles I’d endured.
Laying a light k**s on my nose, he opened his eyes to look at me again.
“Good night, my lioness. And don’t forget to close your windows next time.”
Before I could understand much, he was gone.
Leaving me in total confusion and trembling.
What the hell was that?
I ran my fingers over my face to touch my nose, where he’d just kissed me.
No matter how nice it felt, I couldn’t trust him.
No man was trustworthy. Including him.

Board meeting
8 h 49
“This is unacceptable, Alpha Logan! These girls will never be able to lead a pack! How can you even think of asking me to consider the possibility?”
Logan didn’t want to look up from the papers in his hands.
Knowing this was going to happen.
“The Silvermoon territory is located in a very important point, the majority of trade is done through this territory. We’re well aware of the importance of this territory. How can we let a bunch of girls rule it?”
“The gang of girls we’re talking about killed my Beta Arnold. I know there’s never been an Alpha female in history, but we can at least give her a chance. One month. To see if she’s capable enough.”
“But Alpha Logan, we’ve been looking for information on this girl and to our surprise, there’s no trace of her. In fact, she’s not even a member of the Silvermoon pack, she was a rebel… Most likely. How can we let a rebel lead a pack?”
Logan nodded.
“I’m aware of that and that’s why I’m vouching for the girl. I’ll bear the consequences.”
Murmurs erupted in the courtroom, Alpha Logan’s statement was not to be believed.
A man like him never helped anyone without a reason, so why was he helping her?
“I suppose you have some personal interest in this matter, Alpha Logan? Such generosity has never been heard of from someone like you,” asked another elder. Everyone eagerly awaited his answer.
“Indeed, you’re right, elders. The girl we’re talking about is my companion and therefore the Luna Vera of your future King.”
And that’s when everyone in the courtroom fell silent, while everyone looked at him shocked.
We rarely heard of a rebel Luna, but of a leader, an Alpha. Ever.
If only they knew this was only the beginning.
