Chapter 229

James' face was dark. He swept a glance across Nelly's body with a sullen look and snorted coldly. "You're as thin as a pole, and you don't even know how to coax a man! So be prepared to be single for the rest of your life!" Afterward, he turned his head and left. Nelly's face flushed red, and she muttered resentfully, "I wouldn't look for a man like you even if I'm single anyway!"

James suddenly turned his head. "What'd you mutter again?" Nelly raised her head slightly and looked at the ceiling. She pretended to have said nothing, then walked straight into her room. James smiled at her speechlessly and went back to his room to sleep.

After Suzy and George left, they did not take the elevator and merely climbed up the stairs. There were only two units on these two floors, and the stairs were usually not used. There was certainly no one around at this hour. George immediately picked Suzy up and slowly walked up the stairs one step at a time.

The man lowered his head slightly and pecked her on the lips with a languid and elegant smile on his handsome face. "Did you drink?"

Suzy placed her arms around his shoulders. "Just a little."

"What else did you do? I'll consider being lenient if you're honest." The man smiled lightly.

Suzy pondered about it with a guilty conscience. Thinking that since the ice cream was all empty by the time he came, he could not have possibly found out about it. Hence, she smiled and said, "I merely had a little bit of champagne. I swear!" George nodded slowly. "James sent me a photo earlier and I saw you holding onto a tub of ice cream. You were eating it happily. Did I see it wrong?"

Suzy widened her distinctive eyes in shock. She said with a somewhat calm expression, "James must've intentionally photoshopped the photo just to come in between us. You mustn't be

fooled!"

George had a realization and said with a solemn face, "You're right! We can't be fooled by him!"

Suzy smiled and gave him a kiss on the cheek

The two had already gone upstairs and entered the main door. George closed the door and said slowly, "Then if it hurts tonight, don't think of it as I'm punishing you. If you do and it causes any unhappiness between us, it means that we've been provoked by James. You have to bear with it."

The smile on Suzy's face gradually disappeared. She pursed her lips and looked at the man. "I have work tomorrow, Uncle George. Can we go to bed earlier tonight?".

"You work night shifts." George exposed her mercilessly. Suzy snorted softly. "Why'd you even come back?" George said, "To prove to you that I don't like men!" Suzy, "..."

She rested her head on his shoulder and buried her face in the crook of his neck. Her voice softened as she said, "I beg you to give me a lighter punishment, Uncle George." George smiled and patted her back comfortingly. "Rest assured. I won't." Suzy was placed into the warm bathtub. She started remembering the price of eating ice cream before menstruation after the painful lesson.

When George carried Suzy back into the bed inside the bedroom, he saw that the phone on the cabinet had lit up. However, he ignored it.

When it was almost three o'clock, Suzy had fallen asleep and George got up to look at his phone.

James had sent him a text around 12 o'clock: (My ceiling seems to be vibrating. Was there an earthquake?]

George let out a smile and threw his phone to the side. He went to the balcony to smoke á cigarette, then opened the window. He waited for the smell of smoke to dissipate before going back to the bedroom and lying on the bed, holding the sleeping woman in his arms.

Suzy was being protected by George and hardly ever went to other private rooms to deliver any drinks. However, the news that a very beautiful waitress was serving on the eighth floor quickly spread in Kelsen. Sherman had been busy with a newly developed project in his company these days. He had not been in Kelsen for nearly a month. As soon as he arrived, the others informed him of this news right into his ears before he even sat down. The others knew that he was at odds with George, so they deliberately wanted him to hear it.
