Under the Veil I Rule -
Chapter 114
So, seeing her like that, everyone chose to believe her. As for what they truly thought of Liliana, well, that remained a mystery.
Liliana was Finnian's woman, and they knew better than to badmouth her behind her back, so whatever they said about Liliana was hard to decipher.
"Mr. Zade, Mr. Louis, everyone, thank you. Thank you for trusting me."
Being believed by so many all at once, Amara felt her eyes tingle with emotion. She couldn't help but bow to them.
Cedric and Mr. Louis quickly rushed to either side of her, lifting her up. "Oh, Amara, what's this all about? We really didn't do much. Honestly, we could have done better. We should've stood up for you sooner."
Amara shook her head. "It's okay, it's in the past now."
Her heart was full of gratitude. After exchanging a few more words with Cedric
and the others, she glanced at the closed hospital room door and left.
Inside the room, Finnian placed Liliana on the bed, his face a tad stern.
"What on earth happened today?"
Finnian hadn't voiced his opinion all day. Now, with just the two of them, he finally asked the question.
Liliana's fingers clenched the bedsheet tightly, a look of shame crossing her face.
"Finn, today I did wrong Ms. Sullivan. She wasn't pressuring me at all, but she was very firm against changing the script. I got scared, and that's why I..."
"Did your fall into the water have anything to do with her?" Finnian interrupted her.
Liliana froze, and then lowered her head, shame evident on her face.
"It had nothing to do with her. It was all my fault," she managed to say before tears started streaming down her cheeks.
She quickly wiped her eyes, but couldn't stop more tears from falling, her eyes reddening again as she covered her face and sobbed.
Finnian stood at the foot of the bed, watching her silently.
Liliana knew tears were a powerful weapon, but they had to be used sparingly to avoid backfiring.
She pulled out a tissue to wipe her face clean, looking more composed though her eyes were still red, giving her a vulnerable beauty.
"Finn, I'll be honest with you. I did frame Ms. Sullivan today, and I did it on purpose. I just wanted her out of the production."
Finnian asked, "You want her gone?"
Liliana bit her lip. She had already devised a plan when she went out to replace Amara and Finnian. Now it was
just a matter of executing it. So,
Liliana forced herself to stay calm.

"Yes, I don't want her in the production because I don't want to see her, and I don't want you to see her."
She placed a hand on her stomach, her expression tinged with sadness.

"Finn, I'm genuinely scared. You and Amara aren't officially divorced yet, and I have no rightful place beside you. Do you know why I call you my husband in front of others? It's because I want to claim some part of you for myself, but I know it's just self-deception. Legally, Amara is the one who should be calling you her husband.

Because of this, I'm constantly anxious, sometimes so much that I can't even eat. I used to tell myself it was just morning sickness, but eventually, I couldn't fool myself anymore. It's because of Ms Sullivan that I'm so anxious.
