Under the Veil I Rule -
Chapter 131
After changing into her outfit, Liliana headed off to the shooting set. Once she wrapped up her only scene for the day, she hailed a cab and made her way to the Everly Group building.
On reaching the top floor, she bypassed the president's office and went straight to Will's. She knocked on the door.
"Ms. Porter, what can I do for you?" Will asked respectfully after ushering Liliana inside.
With a pleasant smile, Liliana got straight to the point. "Has Mr. Everly been investigating Amara lately? Does she have an affair?"
Will was taken aback, instinctively replying, "No way, Mrs. Everly would never do such a thing."
For the past three years, Will had been the one closest to Amara within the Everly family. Whenever Amara brought meals over, she'd hand them directly to Will, often speaking softly to him and sometimes even bringing an extra helping just for him. This had left Will with a rather rosy view of Amara, so any insinuation against her prompted a knee-jerk defense.
Hearing Will call Amara "Mrs. Everly" made Liliana bristle inside, though she kept her face composed. "Did Mr. Everly mention anything about this?" she pressed.
Will suddenly recalled a phone call from Mr. Everly, who had initially asked him to look into his wife but then abruptly changed his mind. Despite his own suspicions, he couldn't share them with Liliana and simply shook his head, replying, "I honestly don't know, Mr. Everly hasn't mentioned anything, and Mrs. Everly isn't that type of person."
Liliana's lips tightened in displeasure towards Will.
Her gaze wandered, stopping on a document lying on the table—a divorce agreement signed by both Finnian and Amara. It must belong to theirs, she assumed.
She walked over and picked it up, flipping through the pages, her eyes widening in disbelief. They were divorcing, and Finnian was giving Amara so much money? How could this be?
Amara had married into the Everly family as a sort of good luck charm, and three years ago, she had already received a compensation package. Now they were divorcing, why would Finnian give her more
Amara hadn't borne any children for the Everly family, nor had she suffered any loss. On what grounds did she deserve this? Liliana's fingers clenched tight, crumpling the paper with her grip.
"Ms. Porter, is there something about the agreement that concerns you?" Will asked cautiously, noticing Liliana's tight hold on the document.
Liliana snapped back to reality, placing the agreement back on the table with a smile, and she responded, "Oh, I just got lost in thought about something from the production. My apologies.
I just dropped by to ask a few questions. Don't worry about it, and there's no need to mention my visit to Mr. Everly. I'll be on my way now."
She gave Will a few more soft instructions, trusting his sharpness and discretion, and left the Everly Group.
It was a Tuesday, and Liliana went to her parents' house for dinner. As the meal was wrapping up, Jenny

Jenny nearly dropped her fork, taken aback by her daughter's sharp retort. She
had merely asked an innocent question and couldn't fathom what had gotten into Liliana lately.
