At the time, Kevin came downstairs, settling into the head chair with a frown as he watched Liliana, who was charming everyone around. He didn't look pleased at

all.

When Amara appeared, Kevin waved her over with a warm smile. "Ama, dear, come over here. It's been just a few days, and I've already missed you. Come, let me have a look at you."

At the sight of Kevin's affectionate welcome for Amara, Liliana's smile faltered for a brief moment. But remembering what was about to unfold, she let out a frosty smirk inwardly, her lips curled up.

"Kevin, I'm here," Amara greeted Kevin before turning to Liliana with an indifferent look. She asked, "You called me over for something?"

"Exactly, if there's something to say, get on with it," Kevin added, impatience etched on his face.

Today, Hogan had brought Liliana over again, and it annoyed Kevin to no end. He was practically on the verge of kicking her out. Then, she mentioned having an important announcement, which had prompted the whole Everly family to gather. This whole charade was clearly Liliana's doing, and Kevin was visibly annoyed.

"Let's wait until Finn arrives. He's on his way, won't be long," Liliana assured, her tone slightly smug as if she had everything under control. This only made Kevin more irritated.

Just then, as if on cue, the door clicked open, and Finnian walked in. He nodded briefly at his grandpa, ignored Amara, and headed straight to Liliana. "What's this about?" he asked her.

Liliana whispered something to him before turning to address the ten or so core members of the Everly family. "I've gathered everyone here to make an announcement," she began.

"But before I do, I'd like you all to listen to this recording."

A sense of foreboding washed over Amara, and she wanted to stop Liliana, but it was too late. Liliana had already pulled out her phone and hit play.

"Yes, I did hit you! I didn't make a fuss about him having an illegitimate child out there. So why should he care about me seeing other men?

We have an open relationship; we do our own things without interference. So why is he throwing a fit about me seeing someone else? What's it to you?

Think whatever you want. The money's already in my hands, and your jealousy won't change that."

The recording played without pause, apparently indicating the voice owner had said it in one go, and the voice, which everyone felt familiar, was unmistakably Amara's.

At the moment, Everly family members all turned to her in

disbelief, as if seeing her for the first

time. Amara herself was in shock,

unable to believe what she was hearing.

Those words were indeed hers from

yesterday, but the context and details had been deliberately manipulated, leaving out crucial parts of the conversation, completely distorting her intended meaning.

Feeling a rush of panic, she snapped, "Liliana, what are you doing?"

Ignoring Amara, Liliana pocketed her phone and turned to the family with a look of feigned hurt.

"What I wanted to tell you all today is this. Ms. Sullivan has been seeing another man while still married to Finn. And part of the reason she's dragging out the divorce is to claim a share of the Everly family assets. She plans to take the Everly family's money and spend it with another man."
