Under the Veil I Rule -
Chapter 136
The Everly family members exchanged bewildered glances at her words. It was like a storm had already brewed inside each of them, leaving them stunned into silence.
But Liliana didn't seem to mind. She carried on, "I know I'm not exactly the best person to bring this up, given my awkward position here. But I truly care about Finn, and I can't stand by while he, or any of you, are deceived. I just want to expose the truth, so everyone can see Ms. Sullivan for who she really is."
The room shifted as the Everlys finally broke out of their shock, each displaying a range of reactions beyond disbelief.
Peter and Bess wore expressions of disdain, as if pondering how someone like Amara could ever claim to be part of the Everly family.
Martin and Andrea furrowed their brows deeply, their thought unreadable.
Kevin sat frozen in his chair, his eyes wide with shock. Finnian stood there, his face dark as a thundercloud, radiating an intimidating aura.
Hogan and Celeste were the quickest to react. Hogan swiftly jumped out of his position, angrily pointing at Amara. "You had the nerve to be with another man behind my brother's back? How shameless can you be? You spent our family's money on someone else! You're a disgrace! How did someone like you even get through the family's door?"
Hogan unleashed a torrent of insults at Amara, and not a single person came to her defense. Amara was fuming, her anger reaching a boiling point.
"Is this... is this true?" Kevin finally spoke, his voice trembling as he stood, disbelief etched across his face.
"Amara, how could you do such a thing? This is so hard for me to take."
When Kevin uttered the first part, Amara was about to defend herself. But the second part, with its implicit trust in Liliana's recording which made him believe her being unfaithful, shut her down completely.
Liliana's trick was simple-a cleverly edited recording that completely
distorted Amara's words. The editing was so seamless that it left no room for doubt, and Kevin,
unfamiliar with such technology, believed it wholeheartedly
But the fact that he didn't even give Amara a chance to explain left her feeling cold and abandoned.
"Amara, don't you have anything to say for yourself?" Hogan criticized indignantly as he noticed her remaining silent. "You've shamed the family. Shouldn't you be on your knees apologizing?"
Asking her to kneel and apologize? Amara's temper flared instantly. She raised her eyes and stated, "First of all, I wasn't being unfaithful. That recording was edited to mean the opposite of what I actually said. I not only did not cheat on him, but I also never confessed to such a thing in front of Liliana!"
"Secondly, even if I had had an affair, why am I the only one being I
blamed? He..." she kept on, pointing at Finnian, "has been with the other women and even had a child. If anyone deserves blame, he's way out of line. Why didn't you rebuke him but target me instead? Is it because I'm a woman and easier to push around?"
"You're being called out because your promiscuous behavior!" Hogan shouted. "You shameless."
"Promiscuous? Did you even go to school? Do you even know what that word means?"
