Under the Veil I Rule -
Chapter 152
If Finnian really cared about his marriage with her, why was he with Liliana then?
Even though it had been a month since that incident, the memory of seeing Finnian and Liliana standing side by side in the mall still stung Amara's heart.
She turned her face away, her tone turning icy. "Mr. Everly, did you come over just to mock me? If that's the case, please leave. I have no interest in engaging in such pointless conversations."
Amara was usually a very patient person, so speaking like this meant she was genuinely upset.
Finnian stared at her downcast eyes, a cold smile playing on his lips. "Upset, huh? Because I interrupted your date with your lover?"
Amara's face flushed crimson, and she instinctively wanted to retort, "I don't have a lover; the only one with a lover here is you."
But she had said this countless times before, and Finnian never believed her, so it seemed pointless to argue further.
She simply turned away from him, presenting her side, signaling she had no intention of engaging with him.
Finnian watched her profile. Previously, when he accused her of having something with Keith, she would at least try to defend herself. But this time, she didn't even bother, was that an admission of the affair?
For some inexplicable reason, an unfamiliar emotion surged within him. Finnian stepped closer, speaking softly in her ear, "What's the matter, don't want to face me? Are you afraid your lover might get upset if you face me head-on?"
There was something off about his words, but Amara, in her anger, didn't ponder it deeply. She murmured, "Mr. Everly, could you not say things like that, I..."
She really wanted to curse out Finnian. What was he even doing? Yet Amara couldn't bring herself to do that. What if she really angered Finnian and he decided to retaliate? She had come to realize just how petty this man could be.
"What about you?"
Seeing her pause mid-sentence, Finnian edged even closer, prompting her again. While Finnian and Amara were talking, Keith was watching from the side.
Seeing Finnian and Amara's heads getting closer, almost touching, Keith frowned slightly. He walked over and separated them, casually saying, "Come on, guys, do you really
need to be that close? A
hot?"

Finnian looked up, giving Keith a cold stare but said nothing.
"Mr. Everly, don't look at me like that. Why don't you go replace Ms. Porter? She's
waiting for you," Keith said, pointing behind Finnian.
Finnian turned to see Liliana

darkened, and he seemingly contemplated going over to her.
Just then, Amara's phone buzzed. She answered it, "Dad."
Larry? Finnian suddenly remembered the last visit to the Sullivan family, and his steps faltered.
Amara held the phone to her ear, listening to the voice on the other end. She was wearing a mask, so her facial expressions were hidden, yet Finnian sensed a shift in her emotions.
"Alright, Dad, I'll be there soon. Please wait."
With those words, Amara ended the call and turned back to the room, seemingly to gather her things.
Finnian quickly followed her in, asking, "Why did your dad call you?"
Amara was stuffing keys, tissues, and other personal items into her bag, not even looking up as she replied, "My dad's been admitted to the hospital. I'm going to see him."
"What happened to him?"
