"No need, just take good care of Grandpa. He's the one who needs treatment the most right now."

With that, Finnian turned and walked away. Kevin let out a wail, pointing at his retreating back and cursing nonstop until he disappeared from view.

Amara felt a chill run through her heart. Last night's unexpected events had left her confused, making her think something between her and Finnian had changed. But how could that be? Clearly, Finnian's heart still belonged to Liliana!

He had stayed virtuous for Liliana last night and took a beating today to protect her honor. What was Amara even fantasizing about?

Suddenly, she felt pathetic. She couldn't keep going on like this.

"Ama, I'm sorry! When that rascal gets back, I'll make sure to give him a piece of my mind, just to make it up to you."

"Grandpa, please don't. Finnian and I aren't meant to be. His heart is with Ms. Porter, and we're just not right for each other. You should start preparing yourself to welcome Ms. Porter."

Watching Amara say this and then walk away, Kevin was left stunned. What's going on? Why was no one listening to him anymore?

As Amara left the main house, her body weary, she felt lost, unsure of where to go.

Finnian had asked Will to resubmit the divorce papers, which meant that while they were still legally married, in every other sense, they weren't.

She couldn't stay at the main house any longer, but she didn't want to go back to Autumn Ridge either. Where could she go?

After thinking for a moment, Amara hailed a cab to Elysia's place, only to replace Elysia alone in the living room, completely inebriated.

There were seven or eight empty bottles at Elysia's feet, and she was still drinking. Amara, irritated, grabbed the bottle from her. "What are you doing? Drinking like this, are you trying to ruin yourself?"

Elysia's blurry eyes slowly focused. Instead of trying to reclaim the bottle, she pulled a pack of cigarettes and a lighter from under the coffee table, lighting one expertly and taking a deep drag.

She had smoked back in the day, but quit because Dorian Hawke didn't like it. Why was she smoking again now? Amara frowned at her.

"Jessica's back."

Elysia exhaled a cloud of smoke. The misty haze obscured her features, and Amara couldn't see her expression, only hearing the emptiness in her voice.

"Dorian went to pick her up first thing this morning."

Amara's brows furrowed as she moved closer to hug her. "Ely, don't be upset."

Elysia turned her head, burying her face in Amara's shoulder and began to sob softly.

Amara stayed with Elysia through the night. The next morning, she ordered breakfast, and they ate together before Amara headed to the film set.

The morning's scenes weren't too pivotal, and Amara felt unexpectedly queasy. As soon as she arrived, she lost her breakfast, so she decided to rest in the break room for a while.

There was a knock at the door. Assuming it was a crew member, Amara called out, "Come in," only to be surprised when Kevin hobbled in on a cane.

"Grandpa," Amara uttered as she quickly went to support his arm. "Why did you come all the way here?"

Kevin was calmer than the day before. He took Amara's arm, hesitantly asking, "Ama, why didn't you and Finn get it down the night before last? That was some top-notch stuff, and I even had Peter lock the door. How on earth did Finn resist..."

Amara's face flushed crimson, her expression uncomfortable.

"Grandpa, Finnian doesn't have feelings for me. Of course, it didn't happen, and you know my situation too."
