She knew that letting her imagination run wild was a form of self-torture, but she just couldn't help herself. That was when a loud knock echoed through the house, and Elysia's voice followed urgently from outside, "Ama, are you home? Open up!"

Amara paused for a moment before quickly heading to the door. The moment she opened it, she was greeted by Elysia's furious expression as the latter gazed at her, her brows furrowed with intensity.

Amara thought something might have happened between Elysia and Dorian, so she ushered her in quickly. Just as she was about to ask what was wrong, Elysia burst out, "That bitch is pregnant? Ama, did you know about this before?"

Amara didn't reply. Was Elysia upset about Liliana's pregnancy?

It made sense; Keith and Elysia were the two friends who cared for her and truly understood the bitterness in her heart.

Amara looked down. “I knew, right after the divorce."

Elysia's face was ablaze with fury, like she was ready to take on the world. Amara, who had been simmering in her own anger, couldn't help but let out a small, bitter laugh at Elysia's fierce expression.

She moved closer, hugging Elysia tightly and resting her head on her shoulder. “When I first found out, it really hurt, but I've come to terms with it. I thought I had, anyway.

But seeing Liliana's announcement just now, especially that pregnancy test, made it all so real. Ely, I'm really hurting."

Elysia wrapped her arms around Amara's back; gritting her teeth, she cussed out, "Those two jerks, one having a kid out of wedlock, the other cheating, and they're flaunting it like there's no shame!"

Amara let out a self-deprecating smile. "Yeah, the Everly family must be embarrassed, but Finnian doesn't care. He only cares about Liliana's feelings.”

Just then, Amara's phone buzzed, the screen lighting up with the name “Kevin”.

"Is it Mr. Kevin Everly?” Elysia asked.

Amara nodded. “Yeah.”

After a moment of hesitation, she was ready to pick up. "His grandfather has always been kind to me. I should answer."

She clicked to answer the call as Elysia gave her a reassuring pat on the back, mouthed “I'll head out," and then left.

Holding the phone, Amara greeted Kevin and inquired, "Is there something you needed to talk about?"

"Ama, how are you?" Kevin asked. "That rascal, letting that actress cause such a scandal! He's got no shame! If he dares to show his face around here, I'll give him a piece of my mind."

Kevin was clearly agitated, launching into a tirade against Finnian, even tossing in a few colorful insults.

Sensing his frustration, Amara tried to soothe him. "It's just how things are, considering he and Liliana are infatuated with each other. You should try to accept them sooner rather than later, Kevin."

Deep down, Amara respected Kevin, but she couldn't help thinking he was a bit too stubborn.

Liliana was actually quite

accomplished in every way, but Kevin had a strong aversion to actresses, models, women from humble backgrounds, and those who were too attractive.

Liliana ticked all those boxes, which was unfortunate for her.

“Ama, I'm fine, I'm worried about you. Please, don't be upset."

Amara sighed internally. How could she not be upset? His words were merely empty reassurances.
