Under the Veil I Rule -
Chapter 86
It was the first time Elysia ever shook off Dorian's arm, shouting, "Get lost! Don't touch me!"
Dorian's pupils shrank in disbelief. Elysia, who always softened her edges for him, was actually yelling at him?
Just then, Jessica walked over, wearing a simple white cotton dress that contrasted with the sophisticated vibe of the club. Her sleek black hair cascaded gently over her shoulders.
She lightly pinched Dorian's arm, speaking in a sweet, soothing voice, "Dorian, maybe Elysia's just worried about her friend. You shouldn't argue with her."
Then she turned to Elysia, her voice gentle. "Elysia, you know Dorian works hard every day. He just wants to unwind after work. Maybe you shouldn't be so harsh on him; he's already exhausted."
Elysia stared coldly at Jessica, feeling a sudden urge to toss this woman out. Always the straightforward type, she snapped, "Who the hell do you think you are? This is between me and my boyfriend. Why do you think you can butt in? And why do you call me like that? We are not that close."
Her words were harsh, and Jessica's eyes reddened at once. Dorian's face twisted with anger as he pulled Jessica behind him, demanding, "Elysia, what's your problem?"
Elysia's heart ached terribly, but a cold smile played at her lips. "What problem?"
Dorian's gaze darkened slightly. "Playing dumb, huh? I'm asking why you're picking on Jessica."
Elysia's face turned pale, though it was hard to discern in the dim light of the room. Her eyes drifted over Dorian and Jessica, and she suddenly felt like an outsider, a sense of despair washing over her.
But Elysia was a strong woman, and she hadn't forgotten why she came here today. She started, "I'm not here to argue about this with you. If you want to talk, we can do that later. I'm here for another reason."
With that, she turned to Finnian.
"Finnian, you and Ama got married on paper, and you're nearly divorced. It's fine if you want to see someone else, but could you at least wait à while before announcing Liliana's pregnancy?
Liliana was the other woman in your marriage, but now you've twisted things so everyone blames Amara. Don't you think that's unfair?"
After Liliana's post on Twitter,
people had indeed been bashing
Amara. They said, "Love comes first,
and the one not loved is the third
wheel, so Amara is the
homewrecker." Elysia had nearly exploded with anger reading that.
Finnian's gaze was icy. "I don't need your advice on what I do."
His words carried an imposing authority, and Elysia felt that Finnian had never truly cared about Amara. Because he didn't care, her feelings didn't matter to him, which fueled Elysia's exasperation.
Dorian grabbed her wrist, his voice low and simmering with frustration. "Enough. Let's go outside."
Elysia shook off his hand again, raising her voice slightly. "I said, don't touch me!"
Her tone was so disdainful, her
actions so uncompromising, leaving no room to maneuver, which rattled Dorian's Cage. Just then, the door opened again, and Amara rushed in, her hair slightly disheveled, leaving everyone momentarily stunned.
