Wing Of Change -
Chapter 88
Sandra sat in a wooden chair facing an equally wooden table inside a semi dark room. The only source of light in the room was the poorly orange light bulb that hang on a bare wire from the ceiling.
Frank stood by the door watching her intently with an unreadable expression. Her face was pressed against her palm with her elbow resting against the table in a bored manner.
She was oblivious to his presence in the room or just pretending to. He wasn’t sure. She seem really relaxed where she sat with the dim light pouring in against her now closed eyes.
Frank took another step closer causing her eyes to flick open and came to a halt when his eyes met hers and just kept staring at her without giving away his very thought.
She is very intelligent and smart. Frank could really give her that but what he wants to replace out is what lies behind that pretty face of hers.
If she wanted to play then he is very much ready to give her one.
“I’m sorry Sandra” he began as he took another step closer and covered the remaining distance between them.
She sat up straighter but said nothing and just kept staring at him with a bored expression.
“I know you hate me and wish to see me suffer more than I already am and I don’t blame you. But you are a mother and you know what it feels like to be pregnant and that’s why am begging you to please help me replace my wife. I don’t know what condition she is in right now but I can’t imagine it to be good. I’d give you anything you want to have her back. Please just help me”
She huffed and leaned back against the chair before crossing her arms across her breast.
“Don’t talk about being pregnant with me because you don’t know what it was like for me to have been pregnant and very much alone with no one but myself”
“You know it wasn’t my fault. You were the one that left me remember? You made a choice that didn’t involve me in your plan so you can’t blame me for the way things turned out between us”
Frank noticed something flashed in her eyes for a moment and had a bit of hope but he didn’t imagined her reply to be what she said next.
“You love her more than you ever loved me and that’s okay. I guess she deserves it more than I ever could” Sandra has spoken more to herself than anyone else.
Frank wasn’t sure if he was to replied to that statement or not so he kept quiet and she continued but this time she was looking at him in the eyes.
“And no, I don’t hate her. At least not anymore. I wanted her to suffer just like I did but I failed every step of the way in my plans.” She paused and gave a light chuckle. “He always made sure I did anyway so you can be sure. I didn’t take her. He would have stopped me too”
He jerked forward and held her hands at her words without even realizing he had.
“Who? Tell me who would have stopped you Sandra”
Her eyes fell on his hard grip around her wrist and then back at him before he abruptly let go and stood up straight. “Sorry”! He murmured realizing his mistake while glancing at the door way in hope that no one saw him did that.
Sandra cocked a brow at his demeanor and smiled a little.
“Are you always this clueless or you are starting to grow soft” she asked. Her voice taunting.
“I just want to replace my wife”. He answered quite honestly not minding if he sounded desperate or not.
“Get me out of here and I will tell you” she said simply with a smirk.
Frank took a moment to acknowledge her statement and when he finally did. He had both hands resting against the table as he came to an eye level with her.
“Don’t play games with me” he warned.
She gave a careless shrug and then leaned away from his intruding presence.
“I’m not!”
“Then promise me that you won’t go back on your word as soon I get you out of here”
She pushed herself off the back rest and met him half way across the table.
“Do you think am clueless or just plain stupid!. I know they don’t have right to keep me here without evidence so don’t act like you are doing me a favour when we both know who is actually in need of one right now” she ended with a scoff and just leaned back against the chair while Frank had to stand back up.
“Okay. I will get you out and you will tell me what I need to know.”
“You have a deal”
Frank walked out without spacing her another glance and met the officer in waiting. he handed him a release paper to sign and also close the charges levied against her and he did without hesitation.
After she was finally released and set to leave. Frank pulled her to the side.
“You still owe me” he growl
She hissed and rolled her eyes at him before pulling her arm away. “I don’t owe you and I just have a hunch about who could have her”
“Then tell me already” he g*****d.
She was quiet for too long. Her hesitation causing him to grow more frustrated and a lot impatient.
“Tell him already. You can’t keep stalling like it’s nothing because a life is at stalk here so speak up and save everyone the torment” Kelvin has spoken out in sheer irritation at the exchange going on.
“Tell me who you think has her”Frank had asked again.
“I’m not sure but from all indication, my guess could be right. It has to be him” she answered with shrug.
“Who the f**k is him for Christ sake!” He yelled.
“Her lover okay? He ought to have her”
Frank took a step back in order for him to process what she just said but felt she was messing with him again.
“What lover are you talking about. Aria has no lover”
“Are you sure?” She asked him back with a raised brow.
Frank took a step back all the way in realization. If she was referring to who he think she is then he doesnt know what he would do when he replaces him. But from all indication_She wasn’t kidding but how could she have known.
“How did you know?”
She answered with a shrug. “You asked a question and I just gave you an answer. How I know shouldn’t be your business. Now I need to get home to my son if you don’t mind” she snapped angrily.
Frank turned around and stalk off leaving her there to call after him.
“Where are you going? How will I get home”
“I will take you” Kelvin has spoken from behind her.
