You Hit My Heart -
Chapter 313
Joyce was too embarrassed to ask further questions and had to rushout of the imaging room and head to the OB/GYN clinic on the thirdfloor.
Soon, it was her turn.
In addition to bewilderment, she had a touch of anxiety.
The doctor was about fifty years old, wearing a pair of gold-rimmedglasses and looking very experienced, with an auxiliary nurse standingnext to her.
When Joyce walked in, the doctor smiled kindly.
"Sit."
Joyce sat down immediately when she heard her and askedimpatiently, "Doctor, what's wrong with me?"
The doctor opened a file up, took a closer look at the ultrasound report, and said, "Very good, nothing wrong."
Joyce breathed a sigh of relief and just wanted to put her heart down. The doctor, however, suddenly added, "Everything is normal with thefetus, and it looks like you are in good health.”
"What ... what fetus?" Joyce was completely frozen, her mind blank. Afetus? What fetus? What does fetus mean? She's pregnant? How wasthat possible? She had sex with Luther just the day before and todayshe had a fetus? That's outrageous.
This time it was the doctor's turn to be surprised, “You're pregnant, andyou don't know? Didn't you come for regular maternity checkups? Hey,wait a minute, you don't seem to have a pregnancy file, is your fileelsewhere, do you want me to transfer your pregnancy file over?"
“I don't know, I'm pregnant?" Joyce was incredulous and incoherent,"Doctor, are you mistaken, my name is Joyce, I was just transferredfrom the gastroenterology department.”
"There's no mistake, it's Joyce." The doctor checked, the surprise in hereyes was no less than Joyce's, "You're more than three monthspregnant, you don't know yourself?"
She had seen confused mothers, but she had never seen such aconfused one, who didn't even know she was pregnant for more thanthree months!
“This, how is this possible?" Joyce waved her hands repeatedly,"Doctor, every month, I have my period on time. How could I bepregnant?” She's not confused, at least she's not so confused that shedidn't even know if she had not had her period for three months, sothere must be a mistake somewhere.
"Oh." The doctor trailed off with a long trailing voice and a look ofunderstanding, "That's no wonder, do you have very little blood eachtime, they end in a day or two and are dark in color?"
“Yes, how do you know?" Joyce nodded her head. It was true that shedid not bleed as much recently, and she had always thought it was dueto her strain.
"Yes, there are cases like yours. Very few people, after pregnancy, willstill have a small amount of menstruation each month, but the amountmust be very small. I have seen a few cases, and you are not anexception. Don't worry, it doesn't affect the development of the fetus, just that there are differences in hormone secretion in each person.Such a situation would stop when the fetus is about five months old."The doctor explained to her seriously.
“The fetus is healthy at the moment, you should take proper nutrition, but you should have less sugar and less oil, and have regular maternitycheckups. Here is your ultrasound report, I have printed it out for you, take it. You don't have any other problems, right?"
"No, it's not..."
Joyce walked out of the OB/GYN's office in a daze with the ultrasoundreport in her hand.
She couldn't believe it.
This was too bizarre. Over three months ago, so that must be the nightwhen she saved Luther... And he forced her ... And she was pregnant... And she knew nothing about it...
She stood in the hospital corridor in a state of delirium.
However, this scene was seen by Jacqueline and Shelly, who came tothe hospital for a follow-up appointment.
