Under the Veil I Rule -
Chapter 98
From that moment on, Liliana's image in his heart grew even more magnificent.
"Grandpa!" Hogan pleaded, "The only woman Finnian wants to marry is Liliana. If you treat her this way, how are they supposed to have a good life together?"
Did this actress really think she could have a good life with Finnian? Kevin had been patient, but now he was about to lose it entirely.
Leaning heavily on his cane, he shuffled over to Hogan, his voice shaking with fury. "Shut up! As long as I'm alive, this woman will not set foot in our family! If you dare go against me, you might as well kick me out first."
"Dad, don't say that! You're the pillar of the Everly family. We can't do without you. Where would you go?"
Hearing Kevin talk like this, his children and their spouses couldn't just stand by. They all rushed to his side to calm him down.
Seeing everyone rise from the dining table to gather around Kevin, Liliana bit her lip hard. She had expected hurdles today when she came with Hogan, but the biggest one was undoubtedly Mr. Kevin Everly.
She hadn't anticipated things would escalate to this level.
To be honest, she thought that since today was Peter's birthday party, and she was brought by his son Hogan, Mr. Kevin Everly, no matter how displeased, would at least leave his son some dignity and not actually throw her out.
That way, she could stay, making a good start, and visiting in the future would be easier. In essence, she was gambling today-gambling that Mr. Kevin Everly would accept her.
But it seemed she had lost that gamble. Mr. Kevin Everly's rejection was so intense that he completely disregarded Peter and Hogan's feelings, determined to drive her away. Where had she miscalculated?
Suddenly, her peripheral vision caught Amara, who was still seated, and her heart jolted. Of course, how could she have overlooked Amara?
Mr. Kevin Everly would indeed want to maintain his son and grandson's dignity, but he also had to protect Amara's.
Hogan bringing her here so openly would undoubtedly hurt Amara the most.
Even if Mr Kevin Everly had tons of reasons to dislike her, with Amara present, he had to show even more reasons, especially since Mr. Kevin Everly's fondness for Amara was well-known.
So, she shouldn't have boldly come here today. For someone usually so astute, how could she have forgotten this?
Liliana sincerely regretted coming. But with things as they were, she pondered how to salvage the situation.
"Get out now!"
Despite a couple of his children holding him back, Kevin was unmoved, pointing at Liliana and demanded, "Leave here! We don't want a woman like you!"
"If you're not willing!" he roared as Hogan tried to protest, "Then you can leave with her!"
Hogan clamped his mouth shut,
fists clenched vehemently, fury
boiling over. He didn't know what to
say. Finnian, too, wore a stern
expression, stepping forward to
speak.

Just then, a figure moved in front of him, blocking his path. It was Amara.
Since the incident began, Amara had sat quietly, as if the chaos around her was irrelevant. But as things threatened to spiral out of control, she intervened. What was she up to?
Everyone turned their attention to her.
"Grandpa," Amara said softly, holding Kevin's arm. "Don't be mad. Let Ms. Porter
sit down and have dinner."
